Has anyone played Torchlight? I saw a story about it on arstechnica and it looks pretty cool.

Awesome! Thanks for linking it.
If you're a big Diablo fan, dish out the $20 for Torchlight. I PROMISE you will not be dissappointed. I just wish it was multiplayer. BUT they're working on an MMO version.
No shit, the game IS Diablo 2.9 minus Diablo himself.

God dammit Don I just got Dragon Age going, don't tell me this is as good as I suspected it was.
I knew it was Diabloish from the vids but I had no idea just how much Diablo the Runic guys put into it (they're all ex-Diablo devs -- for anyone unaware). Seriously, the controls, the identify scrolls, town portals, waypoints, skill trees, attributes, maps, everything. The game is beautiful, the pets are way cool and the game is just wicked fun.
They've also put in some nods to WoW which are quite funny when you come across them.

Anyone who is still interested in Torchlight that has not already bought it Steam has it on sale this weekend $9.99.
Not that the game was very expensive to begin with.
The have the option to purchase the game as a gift for someone else as well.

I bought it and I love it. It's like the WoW version of Diablo. Very fun. My ranged character and my kitty kick ass. Plus you get a pet who can run back to town and sell stuff, which is nice so you don't have to stop questing. I highly recommend getting it, but while I enjoy playing it, it doesn't seem to suck hours away from my life like other games do....

So for those of you have 'finished' the game or enjoy the idea of toying around with mods, http://www.devsource.de/torchleech/ is a great utility to manage various mods available.
It's touted as the 'WoWMatrix' of Torchlight.

So I know it's an old thread, but anyone want to play Torchlight that doesn't have it? I pre-ordered the second one on Steam and now I have a free version of the original to give away. You have to be on Steam, but I'll gift it to anyone who wants it!

The first one was lots of fun and I will eventually try it out. I know I have registered to steam but not a clue what my account name is atm. Anyway I'm tied up with D3 and SWTOR right now so... put me on deck.
