OK, so the rumor is that there's a non-combat pet Moose being "given out" the Olympic pet for the Winter Olympics... Has anyone heard how to get it?

During the last summer olympics I was moving from Florida to Kansas, so I basically didn't log into WoW for the entire time and missed the super-cool chinese dragon pet :(.

This year, it seems like it could possibly get lost in the hubbub of The Valentines and Chinese New Year events... So, I'm just trying to figure out if anyone else has worked this out...

I'd like the moose. I think the beaver would remind me too much of Frank and Gordon from Bell (I work for Bell...)

Is there an option to get a moose or a beaver? I am so confused...

I haven't seen anything announced in game or on any site for an Olympic pet. People on WoW.com have been pushing for a moose pet, but they've been pushing for Ghostcrawler to give them a pony too, and that hasn't happened yet.

I was catching up on "The Instance" Podcast on my drive up from Oklahoma today and heard what appears to be the genesis of this rumor: Blizz did a developer chat on Twitter wtih Greg Street and J Allen Brack last month. One of the questions to get asked was about the pet:

Q. Can we expect a Canadian style pet for the Olympics this year?

A. I will put in a request today for an epic moose mount, not sure if it will make it in though.

This was a month ago, so who knows what Blizz actually did about it.

Besides, it seems like there's enough to do with "Love is in the Air" and the Lunar Festival going on. I think if they were to do an event for the Olympics too, Watkins would go postal.

I thought I saw a post on WoW.com about dataminers finding a moose pet. Speculation went from there, I guess.

Oh, well... no moose pet for me then...

I can take a looksee later and see if I can find this moose pet.

I wouldn't get your hopes up though tbh.
