While that's not uncommon, the site does say to vote as many times as you want, so I would assume that they don't restrict the number of votes per IP address.

Ya it's not restricted for some bizarre reason. I also learned that voting ends next Wednesday at midnight and while the votes don't pick the top 5, they will be a contributing factor.

Sounds to me like if they decide on a top 5 list that doesn't include a band that got 10x more votes than all the others, they'll take another peek at that band to see if they missed something.

We're finally getting close to finishing this EP too. (Fucking finally) I have two more songs to lay down on Sunday and then it's all about mixing and mastering.

The top 5 then compete in a live competition on April 23rd to see who wins the prizes.

I was pretty surprised we got as far as we did with our recorded demo being in the state it is. I have one recording session left and then all of our EP will be recorded. With any luck we'll have it mixed and mastered before the summer. I suspect we'll have a much better chance at getting into the finals next year.

In Toronto, 97.7 Htz FM is small beans compared to 102.1 The Edge. So.... now we're in an Edge competition I'm not entirely sure how this one works, but it seems as though my buddies in Faithdown are in the top 5 and have 4500 ratings so far.

If you guys want to bump our rating a couple notches, I would be fine with that :P

While you're at it, you should check out the Faithdown link. I've known these guys for years. I used to jam with a band in a rehearsal hall next door to them. When they kicked out their last singer, they actually asked me to join them but I couldn't.... it would have been like leaving your girlfriend for her sister. Sure it's fun for a while but Thanksgiving's gonna suck.

Someone said that you can vote every half hour or so... but I have yet to put that to the test.
