So my beloved fugly Acer desktop is not functional right now because the video card is rapidly dying. Anyone have an affordable recommendation to replace its NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT? Keep in mind that the case is rather small, but only has its default components inside. So it might be able to handle a fatter card, just not a longer one.

kek.
Well, I happen to have a 9800 gtx that I just pulled out of my computating machine if you want it. It does need a good home with some airflow, however (fan is slowly dying).
Other than that, you just have to kinda look around. I'm not sure of model numbers offhand, but anything that doesn't say "requires two slots" (kek) will suffice.

Sadly, the video card in the old computer is the reason I replaced it.
If you are just looking for a cheap one that will work you can probably get one for about 50 or so. I usually use www.mwave.com for price comparisons. They usually have people selling OEM models on the cheap.

Thanks dudes - sadly the airflow is not that great because the computator is under the desk and we have 3 animals constantly shedding into the air intake. I'm willing to spend 100-200 on the replacement if I can stand just playing around on the laptop for a few more weeks (most notably because it will take me forever to get dominos & xperl set up for every toon again).
If a premade machine sports a single-slot card, what are the odds a dual-slot card will fit in the box? I'm seeing a lot of 2x sized cards. :(
