I've been messing around in the FF14 beta and thought I would post some screenshots of my adventures.

I gave up trying to download the bloody thing.

I was at 15% for three days.

BTW...Diablo Espinoza is a great name.

EXTREMELY involved. You can level to max level just gathering and crafting. There are whole jobs related to the gathering and crafting of materials. A lot of gil to be made if that's your cup of tea.

If you go here http://www.eorzeapedia.com/wiki/en/Category:Disciplines , what you're looking for are Disciples of the Hand and the Land. It should give you some starter info. Not all recipes have been discovered but they have a few of the starter ones available.

Does FFXIV have an auction house?

Am I to understand that there is a "Fisher" class !?!

Not an AH exactly. You set up a bitch boy that sells your stuff from a vendor stall whether you're online or not.

And yes there is a fishing class.

The screenies are beautiful. The look reminds me of EQ2 somewhat. I'm positive my tired machine won't be able to run it though....

I agree that it is an achingly beautiful game, unfortunately it suffers from some big drawbacks.

I've been playing for the past few days, and I can't say I'm really enjoying the gameplay. The UI is an endless battle with menus, and I keep having graphics glitches or my computer tells me it's out of resources. I run an Intel Core i7 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 2GB of video memory, so I'm not sure what resources it's running out of.

But, it has been helping me fall asleep at night. The music and sound effects are so peaceful in Gridania (forest city) that I find myself nodding off while running from one quest to another.

As always, YMMV. If you like the WoW UI and the fact that you can customize it to hell and back then FFXIV will probably not appeal to you. Regardless, I could spend hours just staring at the scenery.

Since it's in beta the resource issue will surely be "fixed". Sounds nice though!
