Excellent. As long as they don't get someone like Queen Latifah to play Susannah.
Also: "King is working on an eighth novel, one that doesn't change the ending, but deals with characters and a storyline that falls midway in the series."

I have been debating buying the hardcovers. Maybe I should do it before this whole things goes crazy and they sell for double the price. Or will the price come down because it will become more popular? I don't know!!

Stephen Fucking King. He's an asshole but he's rich.
For the record, I'm an asshole but I'm poor. Other than that, I got nothin.

I have a membership to Book of the Month 2 Club, or something to that effect, and I have the the hardcovers coming my way. I had felt guilty about hogging the queue, but not anymore, I have some rereading to do.

I agree C.C. Pounder would work well in that role - Love the series but I am two minds about this: Will they try and mash 3 books together, cut out most the characterization and make a crapathon movie (see most Stephen King movies). A TV-series worries me for the exact opposite reason, how long can they parse out the stories before running out and needing to fill air.
IMO A well funded mini-series would probobly do it justice.

I want to go to there.
My favorite series of novels. Period. Can't wait to see more about this. I think they could do it like some British tv shows that have shorter seasons but last for maybe 2-3 seasons. That could allow them to do a tv version right and still retain much of the character and plotting that makes the books such great reads. The problem I see is that no matter who you choose to play Roland, no one will be happy with the choice. There is no one I can actually see in that role.

I'm leery of the PG-ing of the series for broadcast TV. I mean, tell me we aren't all gonna wince the first time Detta calls someone a "honkey muthafragger."
(What? They couldn't get HBO?)

Hey, I just had a thought...wait...yea, just had a thought.
If they turn it over to Peter Jackson, it will turn into, lets see, 7 novels, means 21 movies, not counting the keyhole. Just trying to do the math.
If he can turn The Hobbit into 3 films....
and yes, dammit I'll be at every one of them.
