Are any of you doing this? I have a question about it if you are.

I generally pre-order a regular edition for Arachne and a special edition for myself. But it seems like it may be a better idea to pre-order the regular edition direct from Blizzard so I can start the download and have both computers ready to go when the expansion comes out.

Does anyone know if that's possible? Has anyone ordered the Direct pre-order? How does the installer know who's computer its pulling it for?

There was a post on wow insider that gave instructions on how to start the digital download buy I can't find it right now from my phone. It involved editing a variable in the launcher config file.

Styg mentioned that online, but I can't find the article either. If you do find it, I'd love to see it.

So... what if I want to activate the collector's edition on my account, but also pre-download and purchase online so I can play immediately at launch?

Then you pay a whole bunch of extra money unnecessarily?

If you follow the directions Trianna posted, you will have the download on launch day (in theory) and all you have to do is log into Battle.net and add your key from the Cata box.

So you:

1. Have the download
   
2. Wait in line until midnight
   
3. Bring your box home
   
4. Open it
   
5. Go to battle.net
   
6. Input the code
   
7. Open WoW Launcher
   
8. Enter game directly... profit
   
9. (in theory...)

It wasn't a huge file. The initial download was about 700 mb.
