So, I have a birthday coming up. And with that birthday, I usually get a decent chunk of cash. And this year I thought it would be nice to get a good keyboard for all my PC gaming.
For reference, I'm currently using the Apple Wireless Keyboard that comes with all their computers these days (I'm on an iMac and I boot into Win7 for most of my games). It's a fine keyboard for everyday use but it's obviously not a full keyboard as it doubles up certain functions on the same key thus making it harder to bind certain actions to certain keys.
Anyway, I'm curious what keyboards people here are using and what they think of them. Does anyone use one of the more expensive gaming keyboards that Razer or Steelseries makes? I've been curious about the Razer Anansi but I haven't found any reviews as it's pretty new and hasn't really launched yet or something (ship date has been pushed back twice since I've learned of its existence).
The type of keyboard (mechanical, scissor switch, etc.) doesn't matter that much to me (and yes, I know the differences and how long certain types last). I do like extra keys that are designed and can be programmed to do specific things thus freeing up my normal keys for the usual stuff (hence my interest in the Anansi with the extra keys).
Thoughts? Reviews? ...Cats?

I bought the Razer Lycosa about a year ago and its still going strong. Highly configurable and great asthetics. After several iterations of gee-whiz keyboards that I was less than thrilled with, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Logitech G510 - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/devices/7246
It has 18 additional keys down the left side, as well as a LCD screen so I can keep track of who is talking in Vent.

I like the look of the razer keyboards (I'm very happy with one of their mice), but no Mac drivers apparently :(

I totally Agree with Abigayle! I use a Logitech G series Keyboard and Mouse. They both have held up quite nice over time in my opinion.

I was an avid Logitech fan until I bought the Razer Naga. I've always been happy with the Logitech mice and keyboards I've had in the past, but my next keyboard is going to be a Razer.

How does that work with WoW in Windows 7? I read something earlier about the G keys not working in WoW in 64-bit Windows 7? Was that resolved?

What? I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I have no trouble running the G keys on either on G510 or my G13 gaming pad. Logitech has a driver set especially for Windows 7 64 bit.

Must've been an older post then (I didn't look at the date of the posts that said there were issues). The post was saying that when you launch WoW it doesn't detect that WoW has launched and thus any customization you might have made to the keys' functions would not activate. Clearly that's not the case and that's good to know.

I used to have that problem with the older drivers, but not with the new ones.
