I don't know how close we are to some of the other guilds in the running for this... but we're definitely top 5 or less. But this would definitely be a good achievement for the Best Damn Guild to get.
Last night we came close to not getting the daily experience cap, so if you have been slacking on doing daily quests, it would be a great time to throw a few more into your rotation.
Once a guild hits level 23, the daily cap is removed. This means that at 4am on the day that we have the ability to get to level 23, the race will be on. A couple of us have discussed levelling an alt up to Twilight Highlands and Uldum in order to start earning Guild Experience as fast as possible on that day.
I'm going to try to watch for when other guilds are hitting level 15 and see how far behind or ahead we are.

Guess it's time to finally level the warrior and/or DK. Any rough idea when we'll hit 23, if we cap out every day? If I'm lucky, it will fall on a day when I can take a day off...

It'll be a while still. Each level takes more experience than the last.

I'll keep Bexy at 80 then for this.

You don't necessarily have to stay at 80. Correct me if I'm wrong but high level quests completed at level 85 still give the max amount of Guild Experience.
My plan is to level Zealot up to 85 before we hit level 23 and then not do Twilight Highlands and Uldum until the cap is lifted.

My girls have not done Uldum yet... if Fox is correct in his assumption, should I wait and do it after the cap is lifted?

I suppose I can just level him up in dungeons now and finish those two out later.
The hunter still has a good chunk of both to go as well.

Azaghal - lvl 81 and can hold.
Copernicus - 83 and can hold.
Hmm, I need to get my death knight lvled to 80.
Hell, Arendale is my Miner/Herbalist and made it to 85 but I bet I haven't done 100 Cata quests with him. He would prob be the fastest with 100's of quests to do with no daily limit.
Edit: He's done 197 out of 628 Cata quests. I will save him as a lvl 85 with 431 quests left to do.

I'd been slacking on the dailies until recently. Just started picking them back up again this week. If we ever have Tol Barad, I'd totally group up to do dailies out there as well since I'm slowly getting geared up to the point that I can take this stuff on with relative ease. This could be a good time to start leveling the Death Knight perhaps as well so that a bunch of us can run uldum and TH to speed up the xp even more with quicker kills and quest turn-ins.
According to WoWpedia, it takes ~53,070k to get to level 24 and ~54,730k to get to level 25. It also states the earliest possible day to hit level 23 is 4/4/11, so everyone start requesting your vacation days. :P
Also, I am wondering about the "K" after everything. Does it mean that it takes 53,070 exp to get to 24 or does it take 53,070,000 exp. Not that it is that big of an issue because right now the cap is listed as 6,246 K (and the K is listed in everything in the game interface) so the units will all work out.
And someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this but guild experience is the experience you gain ÷ 4, so HERILOOMS! Wear them when the race is on! And on that note, instead of getting all your alts up to 85, would it be better to keep them at-level so you can benefit from rested?

The only heirlooms that work past 80 are the helmet and cloak. Do those work if you are already 85?

The "K" in 53,070K does mean thousand, so 53,070,000XP. And yes, that means we've been doing 6 million XP worth of quests per day for a while now.

Wear them anyway to level faster?
But point here: guild XP = quest XP / 4. You don't earn guild XP for killing monsters or picking flowers. (You do earn it for completing instances, but for the time invested, you'll get more guild XP by completing quests.)
And on that note, instead of getting all your alts up to 85, would it be better to keep them at-level so you can benefit from rested?
Not exactly.... The lower level you are, the less XP your quests award, the less these quests contribute to guild XP.

That's what I was wondering...rested doubles the exp you get...and you don't benefit from rested at 85. Right? Granted you can plow through a lot of quests faster at 85 than at-level.
And for the heirlooms, yes we will have the cloaks and helms by the time for the race. And they are only 1 TO 85, so they won't work at 85. So that's +5% for the cloak, plus +10% for the helm, and double for the rested at level. So rested we're looking at a total of +115%. I was just wondering how the math works out for the 115% vs plowing through at 85...what is maximized? Granted, the big issue isn't maximizing per quest but per unit of time...so I'm probably overthinking things.
So we hit 15 at 11:19:02 server time today 2/5/11. According to the chart I linked earlier we are on time.

I can only find one guild on the armory that is level 15 so far. At 1 PM today, the armory reports that while VS is still level 14, we got the achievement for hitting level 15 six hours ago. The armory is always a little wiggy about updating right away though.
The only guild on Eitrigg I can find that already shows being level 15 is <Infinite>. The armory says they got the achievement 7 hours ago.
We'll have to watch the next couple levels and see if they are a day ahead of us or not.

I found two others that were also level 15: Sonic Death Monkey (slightly ahead of us) and We Know (slightly behind us).
I was surprised to see Sonic Death Monkey have almost double our toon count.

Maybe they it it earlier in the day, but February 5th (today) is the earliest possible day to hit level 15.

Sonic Death Monkey probably has a monopoly on all the good Horde side players. Can you name another (non-vs-related) horde guild?

Thankfully, this isn't necessarily about talent and more about our abilities to sit unwashed for days in adult diapers in front of our computer screens.
