Anyone out there that has the beta version (paid version) please come play with us!

I have managed to get a multiplayer server up and running on my rig and it is a BLAST. Ill try to keep it up as much as possible though probably not 24 hours a day.

Come and have fun! Try not to go nuts and destroy things that have been built so far :D

Our initial home base/mine is near the spawn, just look for the jack-o-lanters at the door!

And for those of you who do not have the paid version, i highly recommend checking out some tutorials on youtube to see what the frenzy is all about. It is tons-o-fun!

I've been playing this a fair amount. Me and a group of us where I work purchased access to a Minecraft dedicated server at about $20 or $30/month. One of the guys is our server's Shiva. He has a bucket, he grabs lava, and he starts epic forest fires. I had to leave my original area because he burnt down my entire tree farm.

A very oddly compelling game.

I'm having trouble purchasing. I can't get it to accept payment so I assume it's a problem with my bank. I'm not sure I've had trouble before. Anyone else have trouble with Euro payments? I'll check out the videos. Maybe I'll see you soon?

From what I've seen you can protect against fires burning down your stuff. Just keep wood a good distance away so it can't spread. Apparently there are possible random lava spawns so if you search far enough you can start a fire that can chain back to your stuff unless you create a fire break. Sounds highly unlikely but still possible.

I just run around with my flint and steel setting things ablaze. I broke the server a few nights ago. My fire was way too big and it just couldn't understand.

Anyway, Maligner is on our server. Now we need moar!

I named part of my construction after Brendar. I also fell in lava and lost a bunch of resources but no matter, I'm back on my feet again.

I also have a forest growing that will, when I'm done with it, make Fangorn look like a kindy-gartner!

Is this server private? If not, tell me how to ban people in case I'm there and you are not. Also, can my machine share hosting roles? I would be willing to do that if it's possible.

it's not really private, if you know the ip you can get on. so i suppose if someone guessed it they would get on. without admin privialge they arent supposed to be able to build or dig, but we have seen that to be bugged. you can ban since you are admin by doing /ban <playername> in game.

as far as hosting the server there may be a way to do that on your machine also but we would have to research it. it may not be possible since the saved state of the world is saved in a folder on my pc, so even if i got you a copy, anything we did logged in on your machine would not be saved to mine and vice versa.

I was going to dig a multipurpose mine shaft that leads both to my own digs and to a deep strip mine. During the dig, I was inspired:

At the top. I may redo the top as I went as high as you could build so I could not build battlements. To do so I would have to take the top down 2 blocks and use that space for battlements.

This reminds me of the section of my computer graphics course on voxels and how we got to write code to grow our own trees. It looks like it's at a slightly lower resolution (only slightly!) but at least you didn't have to code everything first....

Actually you can fish. You can craft your own rod too. The problem is there is only one kind of fish and you can only eat it raw or cook it and eat it.
