She argued a point of law and answered the questions the judges asked. Then the defense got up with a slimy grin that I didn't like.... Turns out the judges didn't like him either. Each judge took turns interrupting him until the last one... This final judge stopped him and summed up all his points in two short sentences and asked if that was what he was saying.

"Yes." said the defense.
"Then... What's your case?"
Queue laughter from the other eight judges and the people in the court.

I think the "him" he was referring to was your boyfriend. "Is your brother's girlfriend defending your brother." But you said she "destroyed the defense council," so therefore your brother's girlfriend is the prosecutor in the case and wouldn't be defending anything (other than perhaps the constitution...).

At least that's how I read it.
