I'm not touching the world or doing anything with it to start out. If anyone does log into it, it will be untouched for the first person. After that, it's free game.

I can see the game getting old for pretty fast for some hard-core players but if you use it as a diversion it will last quite a while. The devs plan to update the game too so there's possibility it will evolve and grow but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Still, for $10 I'd say it's worth it. According to Steam, I've put in 19 hours so far and I've only got probably about less than half through my single player world. I've not gotten serious about building either, just taking my time. Collected my first meteor crash site mere moments ago.

Hmmm...I have been eye-balling this game. I suppose that I might try to fit it in with all of my other game/work.

I'm really enjoying this game. It's got a lot of the things that I love about Minecraft: collecting ores, making items, building houses. I find that there's more of an emphasis on fighting, and that's kinda neat. I like making all my armor and weapons (and now flower picking and making potions).

Also it's 2D, so I never lose my main house like I did in Minecraft. :)

Edit: There is one thing that Minecraft did that's better: Minecraft has a better Wiki. :( Terraria's Wiki is taking forever to update it's content.

I have to apologize. I've not kept the server up. There is new permanent server software and I've not delved into it. I will look into getting that up this week.

On the game itself, there is a lot of updating and addition to the game. I wonder how fast it will grow? So far, it's probably got 30-40% more content, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. I still have to say worth $10 but anyone on the fence won't get hurt by waiting a while.

As you probably know by now, a blood moon allows the zombies to kick down your crappy door. There are ways around this though, but I'm not telling!

ALSO.... I have to taunt you Pils. LOTRO allows you to mount the trophy fish you catch on the wall of your house or your guild house. Bite it old man!

Turbine actually created "trophy fish" to catch? Not achievement fodder like Old Ironjaw, but larger representations of normal fish. Can you hang any fish on the wall, or do they have to be classified as "trophy fish"?

I think every fish listed as "trophy" is exactly that: a trophy that you can hang on your wall. I almost took a screen shot for you but I was too lazy. I'll do that tomorrow unless I forget. I'll forget so maybe I'll do it if I remember.

Sorry Mal, I've gone back to Minecraft. I've discovered mods. And they are good. :)

I should say I've not had a server up in some time. Also, both Terraria and Minecraft are still being updated to both deserve fresh looks. The next Minecraft update is supposed to be the big Adventure Update. And Terraria's next update is supposed to be large as well. No time-line on either one.

Hey, I forgot to tell you that I'll run a server if and when you want to multi-play Terraria (or anyone else for that matter). Just decide what server rules you want so I can set them up. Things like PvP, hardcore mode, etc.
