My wife (damn her) has recently taken up the hobby of geneolgy. She has made it her life's mission to trace our family background back 200 generations or something. I had widely supported this as it kept her distracted allowing me to play WoW (or more recently, Old Republic).

Well needless to say, this has come back to bite me in the ass. My wife has recently uncovered a fact that affects not only me, but Perseous as well. That inconvenient fact is...

I am Canadian...

On my father's side...

I have spoken with my physician, and apparently there is no cure, though I am told many people who have discovered they are Canadian have gone on to live normal productive lives.

So, I guess all I can say is turn up the Bryan Adams and pass the poutine. Thanks!

I hear there is bad side effect of being Canadian...I hear that when you watch DVD's you first are tempted to look at the alternative languages, and eventually you just watch all DVD's in French.... The good news is that if this happens you can move to the Bayou and you will kinda of sorta fit in...

For some reason this doesn't come as a shock to me. I thought you might have latent canuck tendencies. Southern gentlemen poser!

Don't worry, judging by the Canadians I've met in the last few years, they are generally a good bunch of folks.

haha it's ok you're in good company. I also have lineage back to Canada (also on my Father's side)... and speaking of "move to the Bayou", those ancestors (Acadians) kinda got kicked out of Canada. So I guess I might not count as Canada? LOL

An interesting thing about that actually was some of that stuff I grew up "knowing" left my first wife baffled. Like when I stated talking about needing a "divan" for the living room, wanting to make "pain perdu" for breakfast and the concept of making a roast using a roux.
