Based on the sub model alone, there may be more interest out in the world than originally expected.
I also post this here as it has a graphical style like WoW and the devs promise raiding like vanilla WoW (and many devs are ex-Blizzard).

I like the race models and the class descirptions. A Chua Esper or Spellslinger would be awesome.

Did anyone get into the beta this weekend besides me? I forgot about it until I saw people talking about it in ESO. Just about to fire it up to try it out...
I thought it was live? Heh.
Right now I'm waiting on Highlord Darion Morgraine, so I cant apply for beta until after the battle.

If you pre-order you get into the beta immediately. I did that but I didn't like it and cancelled my pre-order. So, you could try the beta risk free.

I didn't play much out of the starting area. It was just... too much. Visually, there was too much going on, too much stuff that may or may not be interacted with. It was hard to tell. The chat bubbles made it just easier to keep clicking through, so there didn't seem to be any focus on story - too easy to just hammer though, yeah yeah, give me my quest. Contrast with ESO, I actually enjoy listening to the NPC's tell me about their quests.
Do you ever get to choose skills or allocate skill points in WS? I didn't see an option, it seemed like it auto-chose for you based on class, at least in the beginning.
Eh, I wasn't all that impressed. If there wasn't anything else out to play, I would maybe consider it for a month or more, but there wasn't a huge draw for me to try out new classes or races.

Open Beta is now in progress, and has been since the 8th. Sorry I did not see this sooner, for those that might care.
I just recieved an e-mail with some guest pass codes for a free 7 days of WildStar. I'll probably keep one of them, as I might be getting a new computer and would want to try it out with my new computer if I do. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind parting with 2 of the codes at this time.

I got a new machine, and I ended up using a code starting last night. I'm on Rowsdowser (sp?) server because there's a few people I know that are already there.
First impressions on a decent machine, it's pretty nice. I'm not sure an MMO can keep me interested, but it has promise; I can see the design at all turns is very well thought out and executed. There are reports that there's a huge problem with gold farmers and bots that Carbine should have been prepared for, but they are supposedly getting on top of that now.
We'll see.....
I still have one free 7 day code left.

I haven't been able to play much lately. My kid's on summer vacation and I've got a semi-part time job. Come September I'm gonna play the heck out of this game, but right now I can only snatch a few hours here and there.

I believe I'm Maligner on Dominion. My initial sub has lapsed. I'm again in an MMO funk, plus there were some issues with the launch for me. I think overall it was a good launch, but I'm always super sensitive about paying for service that isn't there. The main issues I'm referring to are several days to respond to tickets, as well as a response that was totally canned and did not address the purpose of the ticket, but instead seemed to have been auto-mined from a key word then an auto response supplied. The icing on the cake was the closure of the ticket, to which I can no longer provide a customer service feedback. Completely lets me down.
In short, I am boycotting for now. Here's the response I got. Note that this is my second ticket, the first ticket on another issue (an account ban from my old original account) took over 48 hours to respond to. I finally just made a new account and ignored the response when it finally came.

Hi there!
Guest Pass distribution began on June 3rd! If you purchased a digital or box retail copy of WildStar, you will receive an email containing the three 7-day Guest Passes after you register your retail code. The e-mail will be sent to your NC Account e-mail address. Remember, you need to have a full version of WildStar added to your account in order to trigger the e-mail, so if you pre-ordered from a local retailer, be sure you pick up your box copy! The code in your box copy (or the full digital version code) is the one you need to register in order to receive Guest Passes!

I keep getting horrible horrible lag, and I get the error "network failure: connection closed". This started Friday evening, 28th June and continues today Saturday 29th June. I played several days on a 7 day guest pass and had minimal trouble. Other than the patches placed by NCSoft, I have not changed my client in any way. I have no add-ons. I'm literally having to log back in every couple of minutes. I have no problem logging back in, I just can't stay logged in.
I have found no technical pub
