Well from the lack of any release related posts; my guess is that there is another site up already which I am not privy to.

But I will continue to post here until otherwise.

Not easy-mode, which is a good thing. I think the crafting will keep away a lot of the jackasses

I die a lot. One time, one of my repair bills was over 500gp.

I still have not made level 10.

Named mobs will kill you.

There is no over-the-top looking kits. I love that.

But...EQN Landmark is the bees knees...If and when EQNext sees the light of day; everything changes that day.

I'm glad to see you post this. I was going to ask you about ESO and Landmark.

I've watched some Landmark videos and it honestly looks similar to Minecraft with admittedly higher res graphics. If you like crafting you should try modded Minecraft out.

But not to digress, what is it about Landmark other than just building stuff that you enjoy so much? I can't find anything other than people harvesting and building, and I can get that in Minecraft, Space Engineers, and other such games. Mind you, I really want to know and I'm not trying to trash the game.

I tried a couple hours of the ESO beta and it was underwhelming. What's the draw on it compared to other MMO's?

I pre-ordered WildStar so that I could get instant beta access, and after about 6 hours I cancelled the pre-order. The crafting and housing I was interested in is not accessible until about level 10 and I only made level 7. It was frustratingly the same old MMO grind so I said "screw it, I've done this a million times and I'm not doing it again just to check out housing and crafting".

That's what I think of WildStar and where I'm at with MMO's. I'm thinking maybe I should give them all a pass. I also think you've sounded like you feel a lot like me in general. Am I right? Or is Landmark and ESO that much different that it's enjoyable?

Thanks for your input Pils.

Mal, I never played Minecraft.

Knocking a hole in the ground is one of the most cathartic things I have done in a game.

And there are no fucking stupid rodents, or hawks, or vines to be pulled. Just building something cool...Until the next patch and dying is added.

For more catharsis, here are several games that allow you to craft including tearing up the landscape and building. Some even have fishing. Not all have multi-player but all do have single player:

Bought ESO recently and I have to say, I really like it. Half way through level 9. I'm soloing primarily. I sometimes just run around looking for resources and chests to pick locks on.

So far, I like the mechanics. The graphic style is top notch. The sound is wunderbar. I'm not going to say it's the best time I've ever had, but it's the best time I've had in an MMO for some time.

I won't rehash my disappointment with ESO. If you actually find any VS'ers anywhere let me know.

I am playing EQ2 because I love the crafting, best MMO crafting I have ever seen; the combat is pretty good too.
