While we are on the subject of lockpicking.. I keep getting these Sturdy Junkboxes off of these trolls I am killing. Apparently your skill has to be 175 for the skill to turn orange on them, but I am told you don't get any points for actually opening them. They say it is bugged. As my skill is only 165, I cannot open them yet, but I have like FOUR of them, again, waiting and will let you know if the same thing happens to me when I try. And if you could let ME know if you can open them before I can, I would REALLY appreciate it as they are taking up loads of space. They don't usually hold much but money, maybe a potion or gem, but still...

I mentioned before, the Satyrs in Desolace are level 32+ and you get good boxes off of them, really helps the skill go up, even if they only hold a few coins. But then again, you can just stand around in Ironforge and beg, that works too.

But you know that, gah.

there should be a chest at the place u did ur lockpicking q, the one that is harder than the easy ones. ur supposed to be able to get ur skill to 170 on that one, gotta use ur lockpicking skill on it tho. i went from 90-155 last night in about 10 min.

That's what I did.

But I used the chest at the top of the tower where you get your poisons quest.

I understand that can get you to 175.

After that, rumour has it, Scarlet Monestary has a chest that can boost beyond that.

I've yet to visit SM so I don't know for sure about that part.

oh yeah forgot about that chest in westfall. It will really get you to 175? hm.

I am at 100 currently, maybe a few points higher.

There is a box in SM that you can boost your skills on However since I am not a Rogue and can not unlock the damn thing, I could not even get the blacksmith we had with us to open it with his trusty golden keys so good luck and let me know what is in it. heheh Actually I saw two of them.

Yeah I went to westfall, it doesn't let you open it unless you have the quest now apparently, it wouldn't let me open it at level 30ish.

I haven't been to SM yet, so not sure. But I am in the habit to pickpocketing before killing now and amd slowly climbing in skill.

Would rather get the 2~ silver + skill right now then powerskill. I am doing level 40 quests at 34 as it is :)

I did the same thing, pickpocketing, and I made a pair of gloves that increase my skill by 5 pts. so I use that when I'm just shy of opening something to give me a boost. Right now I'm finally up to 175, 180 with the gloves.

I was gonna go to SM tonight and check out the chests there, but even if they are in a non-boss room it is what, level 38-40 elites? I am sure they all crowd the chests, can't take care of them yet.

I haven't found a chest I couldn't open yet (well since my poison quests but I had a skill of 3 at that point).

But then again I don't go looking for it, responded to a couple requests in IF and BB, but they have all been orange at best, I can do that with no problem.

There was one locked chest, it was green to me.. and it was relatively close to the entrance. Only problem is.. the chests respawn in different areas I believe, so once you open one, you have to find a new, locked chest. Some that are locked at one point aren't locked again, etc.
