Just so you all know the thinking behind the convention we're using.

Consul - Have complete control over everything (officer chat, promote, demote, recruit, kick, edit all notes, set motd -- have fun with the motd but don't abuse it.)
* Unfortunately, Consul's can't promote up to Consul.  They also can't demote/kick each other but that's probably a good thing.

Consul Aide - Consul (Kundera) responsible for promoting, demoting and kicking the rank of Consul as decided by the Circle of Consuls.

Emissary - For those that abuse consul privs.  They're allowed to recruit.

Learner - New recruits or those that consistently bring in poor recruits.

Everyone that we "the founders"  ;D  agree are a good fit and belong in the guild are made Consuls.  New recruits will remain Learners until the Circle of Consuls agree that they are ready to join "The Circle". 

I'm getting rid of the alts / mules rank.  Public character notes will be used to display forum names so everyone knows who is who.  We'll use the forums for sharing character info such as our professions.

*All of this (rank names, policy) is open for change.  These are just ideas/names that we've used in the past or that I've pulled out of my ass.

So do we get like a pin or a spirit stick to show that we belong to the 'Circle of Consuls'? I totally want to be pretentious and ostentatious and shove it in the noo.. I mean, learners faces.

Please tell us you at least cleaned and disinfected the ones from your ass. Not sure about the others but I would prefer a rank not encrusted with last nights undigested dinner. ;)

Just a couple of suggestions from me on the rank idea:

Consul - Keep the priviledges the same, except make this rank available only to the founding members, a "Ruling Body" so to speak, much like the King's most trusted advisors, etc.. This might help to keep us from losing control. If a Consul retires from the game or wants to step down then we can elect a suitable Emissary for replacement.

Emissary - Allowed to recruit, control over chat. A member of outstanding quality.

Knight - Full-flegdged member of the guild that has survived their initiation/beating/trial period.

Initiate/Pledge/Padawan/Punching Bag - Trial member.

I would also reserve the Consul and Emissary ranks for primary characters. Alts can become Knights. It's nice to see how the mice play when the cat's away. ;)

Great suggestions! I'd like us to come up with some ranks that are a little more fitting to our guild and new guild name. You all help me out. Bonus if you can fit in VS model names. ;D

The Bundchen can be the Consul.  Then dali Limas or whatever...then the tyras, then the klums, and at the bottom is just "underwear model."
I think the order is pretty good. Unless you want to put Tyra Banks under Heidi Klum.  Tyra ain't at the top of her game anymore. ;)

Whatever we do, I think we need some cool names for ranks

We have to remember that if we recruit, these people might be like 'I am fucking not going to be called an underwear model'. Lotsa insecure dudes out there, ya know. How about bra types? Like the Demi, Ipex, heh.

Well Ipex would be at the top because it's over 50 bucks. Body By Victoria comes next (and I think is a superior bra, btw). And then there is the Angels collection...etc. You guys can go to their site and see.

Our name, Victorious Secret, does it imply that WE are the secret or that we're the keepers of the secret.  I kind of prefer that we're the keepers. Deciding which we are might help us to come up with better ranks.

Um...having the rank of High King is ok but I don't think we should have to call anyone "Your Majesty" because it would go to someone's head. Besides, Killian would kick whoever didn't call him that out of the guild...

I don't see what nerdy-ass medieval rankings have to do with Vicky's Secret. :p If I ran the world, and okay I don't, I would put the rankings in the prospective of high school cliques (as our little inside joke).
Class Presdents, Prom Court, Jock, Drama Club, Brain, Geek and Exhange Student/New Kid. (Actually, the weird dirty kid in the trenchcoat who plays D&D is at the very bottom, but what would we call him?)

I love the clique names.

The dirty kid in the corner can be named Greg.  I prefer Geek over Brain.  And we only really need, what, four or five ranks tops?
