Alaska? Damn. Good luck with that!
Maybe you can tap into the pipeline and send your fellow Massholes some of it to offset the cost of our gas prices.....

So I'm reading about this highway and with all of the warnings I'm kinda 'hmmm... scary'. It's gonna be in the summer so... I really don't want to take the ferry!!! Anyone here actually ever rode on the Alaska Marine Highway thingy ferry thing?
I read on the website communal baths and recliners to sleep in if you don't get a stateroom, and the staterooms for summer should be reserved in DECEMBER.

I would think the drive up will be quite a fun adventure. During the summer months is obviously the best time to go. The hwy will likely be quite busy with tourists this time of year / I know of a few people heading that way for a holiday / road-trip.

I have ridden the ferry from Juneau to, um, somplace. I don't remember. What I do remember is that even a short trip can take longer than most plane rides. So if you don't have a state room, you will spend a lot of time (a LOT of time) sleeping in a chair or a deck chair.

I've got kids so, stateroom is the only option. I'm not having some freak feel up my son in a communal bathroom, oh HELL no. It looks like if we can get a reservation for a stateroom, that might be the best option and my son loves the water and shit so... but if not, honey, we're ROAD TRIPPIN' IT!
Luckily, the military got their shit together during the summer so we don't have to do anything extreme to the car just yet. But it's coming, oh... it's coming.
OMG OMG OMG! I'm just over-fucking-whelmed!
Edit: The more I think about it the less I know what to do.
