I just read that recently. Thought it was quite funny. Gotta wonder what joy lvl 4 Trolls get after replying to such threads :).

BTW- How's your e-peen doing ;)

I guess all boards have there share of annoying trolls.

It's wounded! It may never recover.

btw, we should probably let that thread die. No reason to prolong it more than I already have.

No worries. I'm not posting on Eitrigg forums when there are idiots like lvl 4 about!

You know what I think is funny? That people assume that a guild's happiness is directly related to how many bosses they down and when.

That's because they have no life. They're just a bunch of sad ass gobs. :-[

They really have no concept of it. "We killed Ragnoros so we are better then you"

Yeah, well.. we killed Drakk, while drunk, and a priest tanking.

That is the hilarious part. They really DO NOT UNDERSTAND that we are not crying at night because we aren't as "far" as they are. It reminds me of a conversation I had with a young man in the computer labs back in my college days. I MUCKed, for those of you who know what that is. For those of you who don't, it means I was really emo and pretended I was a character from Ranma 1/2 online. In a sort of chatroom environment. Yes. I know.

Anyway, I often did this in the computer labs, and there was this guy there who was always MUDDing, for those of you who know what THAT is. For those of you that don't, it was a MMORPG back in the day before graphics. All text. Here is our conversation:

Him: What are you doing?
Me: MUCKing.
Him: Is that like MUDding?
Me: Sort of, except there's no combat.
Him: So... how do you gain experience.
Me: You don't.
Him: ... then how do you gain levels?
Me: You... don't.
Him: THEN HOW DO YOU GET FARTHER IN THE GAME?

He honestly did not understand it. It was hilarious.

At least we aren't a bunch of can't-spell-simple-words asshats who have dreams about performing oral sex on Drak.

I've had similar conversations before.

Just the other day, my brother saw me playing WoW, again, STILL and he says "Um, haven't you beat that game yet?"

Heh, my brother is kind of the same way. He's not a gamer, and doesn't understand the fun of playing. BUT, he does understand the fact that when I play, I'm online with a bunch of fun people and there's usually alcohol consumption going on. When he's visiting, I have to lock vent when I leave the room, otherwise you all would be hearing from him...

Heh yeah, and my Mom usually says something like "You should go out and be more social" (IE. Gimme some grandkids.)

She can't fathom that I can be sitting in my apartment while also hanging out with 30 people.

::beeps in from Australia:: Hmm, well, while that attitude is aggravating, you have to keep in mind that for some people, downing a new boss is the objective of their playstyle. I don't think there's anything wrong with that in and of itself. To hardcore raiders, downing a new boss, and particularly downing that boss before anyone else on your server, provides a drug-like rush (if vent is any indication). I don't find fault with this on its own, but it is certainly childish when people try to insult a guild based on a playstyle they are not interested in following =p

I promised that I would refrain from forum-pwning on Eitrigg, though. Alas.

... I really do kind of want to take a raid to beat Hogger now. And take screenshots of it. And post it on the forums.

Deme: I agree that it's a perfectly legitimate playstyle to want to beat the next boss, I just hate it when the guilds that do act like they're better than the guilds that don't, even the guilds who aren't trying. Unless it is Transcendence, in which case everyone ever should feel free to say how much better than Transcendence they are every second of every day forever. Because I am mean and petty.

Also Torrin: My brother handled my mom telling him that by saying cheerfully that if she really wanted a grandchild, he'd be happy to produce one and drop it off in nine months, at which point it would become her responsibility. She stopped bugging him about it. I my ownself have taken to repeating, "Well, you know, I'm over eighteen, so you don't get a vote."

There was a video floating around a long time ago about a 20 man raid with naked level 1 folks rushing hogger.

We could recreate that.

Count me in! That Hogger's been stutting around for too long. He thinks he owns Redridge. I say, we strip to our skivvies and take him down with our bare hands!
