Spec: For a long time I had a messed up spec that while effective, was more of a defense based one that I used to solo all the way to 60 and in the early days of VS, tank. It was mostly combat, mace spec and I had no idea imp sap existed until level 60. With this patch I am switching it up a bit and going to give the backstabby rogue a try. I plan on being 3/23/25

Current Goals: Working on the tier 0 upgrades and hitting up ZG/AQ

Spec: all Subtlety right now. After the patch I expect to be much the same. Once I've another 3 points in subtlety I think I'm going combat. Don't know if I'll have enough to get to dagger specialization but if I can that's what I'd be aiming for.

Current Goals: Get to 60.

I'm balanced 20/31/0. I know I'm a strapper for not having advanced sap, but I enjoy my PvP. Advance sap doesn't really go over too well when the paranoid ass Warlocks put me in DoT hell, so I need to hit 'em hard and burn out like a flash in a pan doing as much (or little) DPS as possible.lol

I'm respecing after the patch and dropping Adrenaline Rush, I don't like that too much, but I'll be going to combat.

I built my new spec on the trees on the wow site and it looks like the stuff I want is NUTHIN like what every one else is going for.

Right now I'm looking at 8/24/19

But I'm not sure yet.

Farg level 36 all Combat. Poison is in good shape, high skill level. I'm going to like getting back to him once I get Maligner up there. It's really fun playing him.

I have a rogue! She's da... well pretty gimpy, if I remember... Hell I don't know. I have one though. You know her...

My Talents are all over the place but I have Imp Sap / Prep / and some other stuff.

I'm most active on fezz these days and want to get him to 60 before the expansion.

Ummmm.. I also have a rogue... actually I have 2, but one is just my personal bank :)

Unfortunately, I can't even remember my rogue's name right now. My bank rogue is Kierlin though. He has been around a long time ... and is still level 1 :) No goals for him, except to hold stuff for me>

Ironshorts is still in his infancy (level 20) but I'd like some recommendations on what's worked for other Rogues and what to avoid.

...ANYWAY, before yesterday's patch I was using a homegrown build in the sub/ass variety (hurr hurr), 21 ass/4 combat/26 sub. I dunno what I'll do now, except that I <3 imp sap and the backstabby, dagger-centric family of rogue skills.

When are we going to start doing farming runs for that new Eviscerate book? Is it off mobs that appear in UBRS only? SO MANY QUESTIONS TORRIN HELP. <3

My goals are to kick ZG and AQ20 in the face, and eventually begin working on my .5 upgrades once I feel I can get my +energy bonus back as quickly as possible. I also would like to see that everyone who wants a Shifting Cloak will someday get one. :)

Okay, as of last night Devre, my 58 rogue, is in the guild. Devre was my first Alliance character, my second WoW character.

Since I first started, Devre was straight-out Subtlety with a smattering in Combat. I spent a great deal of time getting my ass kicked, but boy howdy, there was nothing in the game I couldn't sneak by (...okay, there are things that see through stealth, but you know what I mean).

Recently, rogues got our talent points back, so it was free respec time. I thought about it, and respecced to Assassination (not poisons), keeping enough in Subtlety to keep Improved Sap. I lost Hemmorhage, which is a shame.

I go into detail about this simply because I still haven't actually ventured out to try out the new build -- I've been working on Aessell and Valmarriz, and I always dread solo grinding a rogue at high levels. So if anyone needs a rogue, poke me...I'd be happy to try her out.

So as of a couple days ago I've taken over the job of class Wise Guy but this is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and do something about it.

I'd love to help all of y'all get what you're aiming for.... or help you figure out what you should be aiming for. I know Torrin did a really fantastic job of that and would on occasion log in and let me know what quests I should do to pick up a rogue trinket or ring and then walk me through it. I have some work ahead of me to be that reliable but I'm up for the challenge.

First of all I want to get a little discussion going. I'm not an expert and don't claim to be... my playstyle has usually been to pick something I think I'll like and then stick with it stubbornly until I'm told I really need to change (Or, as was the case with my Clawbearer in AC2: Stick with something until they nerf everyone around me and I'm suddenly on top). When the rogue respec was announced I researched a little, read a bunch of the whining, read some of the planned specs, and then went ahead and made my own that had little to do with any of them.

So here's my spec. I'll leave out my reasoning right now so you can criticize freely or post your own to get similar advise.

Secondly, for those of you playing your rogues. What are your goals before the expansion? PVP? Level? Quest? Personally, I'd like to get the last 3 pieces of my set and upgrade to Darkmantle.

I know Devre's not built very well. After the respec I think she's a little better -- I went from Subtlety to Assassin and I'm happier with it, though I miss Hemmorhage and Preparation terribly. It works with my playing style. Still, my gear's pretty sad. I've always soloed a lot; it's sometimes hard to get into a group as a rogue. Right now I'm PvPing a lot, trying to get exalted with Alterac in order to get a better dagger.

Um...goals. Well, I don't really have any specific goals. I'm available for damage, I'm available for sneaking and lock-pickery. I'd really like to get more of my Shadowcraft gear so I'm not quite as pathetic, but I'm not all fired up about it; eventually BC will be here and I'll have access to other things.

VSRogue has 4 Belts and 4 Bindings.

If any of you rogues has the level req and find yourselves short on Shadowcraft gear drop me a line.

All the Shadowcraft I have is what you can buy, have no BoP Shadow yet (I need to get in more raids). I did convert my bracers over to Darkmantle. I'm finished with PvP until expansion because I can't stand losing AB & WSG constantly. I'll just buy my PvP armor with honor points after the change.

I'm not sure if I'm going to respec. I like being in Assassination & Combat and I'll stay there as long as I can. I'll make the move to Sublety if I need to - scratching & kicking all the way.

My Daggers are from AV, and so are my trinkets. I'm going to try to start getting into raids more often starting this week.

I don't know about you guys, but after the patch I'm finding it alot easier for me to be able to take out a caster (with the exception of Warlocks ofcourse) since the new patch in BG's. Anyone else noticing this, or was I just lucky enough to be able to get into BG's with sucky casters? ;D

I've actually not been able to spend too much time online since the patch. Every night this week I've had some sort of commitment.

That being said.... I'm trying out a build that's very new to me. I don't have a lot of evasive maneuvers any more but my damage output seems to be a tiny smidge away from ludicrous.

I'm almost all combat now with the 41 point talent so that my three main attacks NEVER miss and the 5/5 of the one just before it that allows my offhand to give me 15 energy 20% of the times it strikes.

I'm waiting to see how I do in a VS group/raid to see if I'm gonna stay this way or maybe go all subtlety.

I do need some help deciding something so maybe you guys can help me make up my mind.

I have 3 daggers and need to decide which to use.

I did have The Lobotomizer in my main hand with crusader and Electrified Dagger offhand with 15 agil. Yesterday I had to work for 2 hours to get the horseshoe out of my ass which turned out to be an asset since it got the Felstriker to drop.

So, from what I understand the criteria for picking the best weapons goes a little like this:

Main hand
- Highest damage you can find
- Speed doesn't matter since all of our attacks are instant and only the autoattacks are affected
- Cool proc that has a chance of hitting every time we spam one of our attacks
- Agil enchant or cool proc enchant

Offhand
- Highest speed you can find in order to make offhand poisons more likely to hit
- Cool stat bonuses since the weapon won't be striking enough to make a proc viable
- high damage after these first two have been met
- Agil enchant


Was easy with the 2 daggers I got from AV. One is obviously a main hand and the other an offhand. But now I'm kinda torn. The Felstriker is a better mainhand, no question. So I should enchant it with Crusader and move on.

Offhand? Lobo or Electrified? And if I keep the Lobotomizer, should I erase that expensive Crusader enchant and put an Agil on?
