Boards › Forum › Guild Write Up: "We Know"
We all know, but do they? That is the real question with this guild Iâm afraid. How complicated can you possibly make things for your guild? Applying for membership is like going through security at the airport, a royal pain in the ass. Maybe you would like to view the guild promotional video http://www.insanecats.com/media/WeKnow.mp4 sigh...
âWe Knowâ is an alliance guild and âWe Noâ is their Horde counter part. âWe Knowâ is a guild that originated on Khadgar, but moved to Eitrigg in the great exodus of 2005. If you are thinking about joining the ranks youâre going to need a sponsor and be prepared to be fully versed in Articles I â V of the guild bylaws if you are seeking membership into this exclusive club. Boring takes a whole new meaning with these folks personally Iâm going to blame it on Article I Section 2 Sub Section 3 of the guild bylaws. When you make things as politically correct as they are here you have boring. Conversations are bland and generic as nobody wants to offend anyone thus resulting in a generic vanilla conversation. To equate this to something we all in this guild can understand, itâs like the missionary position, itâs what she likes and itâs all she will let you do. Itâs fine at first but as time goes on you have an increasing desire to stick your finger in her ass since she wont change things up a bit. Our guild is that finger in the ass, a wild exciting adventure that sometimes results in a stinky digit and a slap in the face.
The photo below is the brain trust that runs things at âWe Know, the guild master is Jon kichi AKA Minnie Mouse real name Joichi Ito.
In all seriousness Joichi Ito is a venture capitalist and a catalyst for computer-based socially oriented innovation. He housed the first internet server in Japan in his Tokyo apartment. This high tech guru had been rumored being on the board of Wikipedia which has turned out to be false but was in fact on the board of Wiki and now he is solely an investor behind it. While I didnât want to turn this feature away from the actual guild itself I felt a few of these nifty little facts were worth pointing out and I encourage you to check out his website at http://joi.ito.com/ and a link to a magazine article about Mr. Ito.

Now what do you say we dive right into some of the finer points of these entrusted guild bylaws.
Article I - Mission and Core Values
Section 1 - Mission
To create a community that is fun, inclusive, supportive, respected, sustainable and effective. And pwns, of course.
Section 2 - Core Values
In performing its mission, the following core values should guide the decisions and actions of We.
1. Treat each other with respect. This may sound simple, but respect means curbing the use of language that may make other people uncomfortable, attacking or criticizing people in public when it could be done in private, using "rank" or other seniority to push new members around or any other activity that intentionally makes another member feel bad or look bad. Joking around is fine and teasing is fine, but make sure you know the person as well as how others may view the joking.
2. Protect and increase the reputation of We. Interacting with other guilds, recruiting good members, being trusted and encourging honorable behavior requires the guild to be respectable and respected. Treat non-guild members with respect and take complaints about our guild and guild members seriously and try to address issues to improve. Encourage but do not force guild members to engage in "guild building" activities. Our reputation and unity will grow organicly over time and should not be a "top down" system but something that emerges naturally as a result of everyone working within their comfort zone.
3. Social Diversity. We have members from all over the world, a variety of age ranges, a variety of job, race, social backgrounds and a variety of sexual preferences and genders. It is difficult to notice this diversity online. As boring as political correctness (PC) may be, the value of having social diversity outweights the value or need to be able to act like you are in a lockeroom or in your own home. Generally speaking, keep conversations involving politics, religion and other possibly controvertial topics to a minimum. We have priests, soldiers, political activists, homosexuals, children, handicapped people and many other types of people that would normally not be spending this sort of time together in the guild. This requires being sensitive and tolerant. If you do not enjoy or believe in social diversity of this kind, you should not be in this guild.
âWe have priests, soldiers, political activists, homosexuals, children, handicapped people and many other types of people that would normally not be spending this sort of time together in the guild. This requires being sensitive and tolerant.â
I like this statement the best as I feel it really captures a particular essence in making any conversation as dull and drab as possible. This brings me to a story about a priest, a politician, a homosexual, a child and an invalid. So a priest, a politician, a homosexual, child and an invalid are all masturbating in a bathtub at a homeless shelterâ¦
Anyways, they sure have an ass load of level 60âs
Average Level: 42
Level 60: 166
Level 50-59: 43
Level 40-49: 56
Level 30-39: 48
Level 1-29: 130
âWe Knowâ has 324 Ex members. Apparently they didnât know.
They do have an end game leader known as Persimmon and they do utilize the always fun and friendly DKP System.
By looking through the forums at some of the mindless posts there seems to of been a guild merger of sorts, âWe Noâ has taken on the guild âBloodlustâ on the horde side of things, just another fun little fact.
To wrap things up, while Mr. Ito may fart hundred dollar bills and has brilliance beyond comprehension he runs one dull ass guild. Iâm glad to have this one behind me and on to something else that makes my taint tingle.

I don't really know them (I don't have the same knowledge of the drama pulse on this server as I had on Zul'jin, where I basically knew everyone and everything that they ever did), but I actually kind of liked their video =p Probably because that was some fine music (from Chrono Cross, right?).

Quoting myself from a previous post:
You can mute individuals as needed. I found that out quick being in a We Know ZG raid and connecting to their vent server. The absolute asshattery of some people in that guild is outstanding. Who else but a self-important fucktard would answer multiple cell phone calls on Vent with voice activiation on their mic, so we get to hear their conversations while we're raiding?

The picture at the end really hits the 'controvertial' nail on the head. SWEET!
Great Job, Ben!
(the stinky digit and a slap in the face was priceless).

I love that our guild gets to be the unwanted-probing-ass-finger.
Unwanted? Hardly. Great job, Ben!

I've been exposing my up-turned ass to Val on his front doorstep for 2 hours now and he STILL doesn't get it.
