OK which do I go for, Armorsmith or Weaponsmith? And, can I change my mind later? Thanks for your opinion...

Everything I've read says armorsmith is the best way to go. However, for what it's worth, I can't count how much cash I spent on the armorsmith quest -- not counting the 200+ bars of mithril I had sitting in my bank (you need WAY MORE than 200 bars, which is what some walkthroughs tell you you need), and I haven't come close to recouping that from selling crafted gear yet.

Good luck.

Armorsmith sure beats swordsmith. If I had to do it over again, I would go armor. Not for selling, but for wearing and gearing the guild.

DEFINITELY Armorsmith. We have an assload of Swordsmiths, a few of the others, but not enough Armorsmiths, and Armorsmith equipment and recipes are infinitely more useful in the end. Also about the only major money-making Swordsmith recipe is the Heartseeker, whereas a fair number of Armorsmith recipes sell for decent money once you've made it up that far. I know I regret going Swordsmith!

OK I've started the armorsmith quest line. I would be glad to pay for some Mithril. If you have a few stacks you want to unload send them to Reggid COD and I'll pay for them. Of course, it will be a while before I can make the high end stuff (237 skill now) but I'll be glad to do what I can when I can for whoever wants it.

I'm out of mithril at the moment, but whatever I can get I'll gladly send you free of charge. The long haul to 300 will get very expensive and time consuming. Besides the mithril and soon thorium, let me know what other mats you need.

Swordsmith has the heartseaker which is kinda nice, but by the time you get all the crap to make it? meh.

Hammersmith has some good stuff, especially with the expansion coming up with some shit about being able to dual wield 2h? Not sure what that is all about.

You will get better return out of the armor if you sell your stuff on the AH.

I'm into the Gadgetzan series of quests now and have about 40 mithril stocked up so I'm doing pretty well considering. I hope that within a couple weeks I'll be an armorsmith. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the mithril Rinader! Can you make a list of what armor you want so I can get it done for you? I'll try to work towards that goal once I have it. I've been farming mithril with a couple different characters to speed the process.

Let's just get you to 300 and then we can figure out what we need. Who knows what's going to be needed or available to be crafted with the expansion.

If you *REALLY* want to be proactive, Dark Iron Ore is where you want to go. Dark Iron Plate pieces for our tanks for the day when we hit MC.

HEY, if you're just handing out the mithril, Aessell's just a smidgen shy of being able to craft thorium armor too! I'm just too broke to keep buying the components for smithing...

Wouldn't really worry about Dark Iron stuff anymore. From what I've been reading most people have already sold off all their old resist suits in favor of the new stuff they get in the expansion. Everything I've read so far basically says that everything outside Tier 3 is effectively crap and will be replaced in TBC by about level 65.

Best thing to do from a crafting standpoint at this point is level up to 300 and collect a bunch of mats for your orange difficulty recipes. That and any supplies you might need for leveling (ammo, pots, sharpening stones, etc).
