For those folks that were in today's ZG pug, I'd love to hear how it went & if you saw anything that we could use in our own runs.

I would have joined you, but I was off having a crazy good breakfast. Sorry.

For Hakkar: spread the group out if you can. Corrupted blood is AoE, but not big enough that it should be getting everyone. They also didn't bother sheeping, just kept an eye on who the target ended up being.

For the Blood Lord: they had everyone but the MT standing in the same spot so regaining agro wasn't a problem.

I'm not sure we could pull off the Arlokk strategy: seemed to be two warriors taunting to keep the panthers busy, but mostly ended up being the raid taking out the panthers when she disappeared.

Thekal was tanked in the courtyard out front and pretty much just beat on until he died.

Mar'li was pretty much using the same strategy we have now - emphasis on blessing of freedom on the MT when webbing occurred.

Venoxis and Jeklik were pretty much just beat on until they died, with tanks being sure to shield bash for spell interrupt on Jeklik.

What Frenial said. I was right up DPS'ing Hakkar and the Coruupted Blood wasn't even a issue this time.

Fren, on the Bloodlord, where did they bring the raptor?

He was being OT'ed next to the "we are all standing in this one spot" spot.

This is the strategy I plan on using next weekend, so I'm interested to hear more about it. With 2 warriors holding the panthers with Demo Shout, we should be able to ignore the panthers until Arlokk is dead. If one or two healers work on the panther tanks, they should be fine. The panthers do like 30hp a hit.

I strongly, strongly recommend that all engineers make lots of the bombs and dynamite that non-engineers can use. Giving every non-AoE class some AoE (and giving AoE-ers additional AoE for when their spells are on cooldown) can be a big help.

For the panther boss, Id reccomend three tanks. Tank1 for the main boss who tanks her in the room near the entrance. Place tank2 in the cage to the left and tank 3 in the cage to the right, have them both stand and tank at the back of the cages. Assign a healer dedicated for tanks 2&3 and just let them tank all the panthers in those cages. Everyone else stay against the south wall (entrance side opposite the gong) and range dps the boss. When she dissappears, have a druid cast a huge heal on someone/anyone then go into bear form - this should have the effect of spiking that person to the top of the hate meter so when she comes out of invis she goes directly to said druid - then have tank 1 peel the agro off. If someone gets the mark, have them stay on the south wall so they do not agro the panthers in the cages.

Rinse/repeat until Will of arlock drops :)

I should point out that the "have the warriors spam taunt" strategy didn't work well for keeping the panthers off the rest of the raid. Once Arlokk sent her pretties after someone in the raid, they tended not to be able to regain agro, and so the raid ended up AoE'ing them to get them out of the way. Or is that the way it's supposed to work?

Which is why you keep them penned up in the cages in the first place. If she marks someone in the room, the panthers will be blocked by the cage wall and cannot go after the marked person.

Once Arlokk is down then go aoe the panthers.

I didn't realize it was possible to keep them 'penned up,' never seen that before.

In all the times I've killed Arlokk, we've always used the AoE/fear strategy, and it is generally effective. Yeah, a few people die, but I'm afraid that Arlokk is one of those bosses where some people are just going to have to die. The panthers might do only 30 hp a hit, but they attack with lightning speed and when they converge on someone, that dps increases exponentially. I'm not sure there's any real way to prevent them from converging on a person with the Mark, or if there is, I've not seen it XD Would be interesting to try.

Those pens are where they spawn from, just thunderclap when you see em to grab ago and they should never go after a marked person unless he/she gets near the entrance to the cages. I've done it this way countless times with no deaths.

Your call of course, just tryin to help

I think it sounds like a good idea! I'd love to try it if we could :D Trust me, I'm all about minimizing death and repair bills XD I was just unawares of this technique n_n
