Interesting experiment. (From the sounds of it, it could've been done with any class. Having a raid helping you kill tagged mobs isn't quite the spirit the game was intended in.) He should try going back and actually playing the game in Outland for a while, though. He might find it more entertaining and far less tiring.

I'm not surprised. One of my friends who is in a hardcore guild has told me they're deciding who gets booted in the 40-to-20-to-10 instance change by who reaches level 70 first, and that this will largely determine whether they are allowed to remain a player of that guild.

Not making this up.

I think it was a get to 70 first thing more than content. Sounds like content is his next goal. However, mages are the only class that comes to mind for aoe tagging targets at distance and staying there(quickly and efficiently).

Rogues have no aoe, warriors are in a similar boat, hunters might be doable, warlocks have a fire aoe, but no real method of esacpe(aoe death coil?), paladins/priests have a small aoe, but its centered on them, druids can aoe once every minute.
