I know this has come up in guild chat, so I thought I'd post the official Blizzard answer:

"At this point it is not possible to get a Netherdrake.
As soon as the arena season begins, it will be possible to get an Armored Netherdrake as a PvP reward.
The normal Netherdrake will be a reward for completing a quest line that we will make available in a future patch.

The two different Netherdrakes will look different but they are both epic flying mounts."

By the way, it sounds like the quest-chain to get a regular Netherdrake mount (310% speed increase), will be introduced in patch 2.1.0.

Still no idea what the chain will require, however.

It's gonna be "free" like the paladin/warlock mount quests are "free" epic mounts: almost as much money, but spread out over seven or eight steps as opposed to forking over a lump sum. <-- theory not fact.

I agree with Vir. I think Bliz wants to keep the elite flying mounts fair for all. Even druids need to fork over the 5k before getting their soon-to-be epic flying forms.

Edit: I hope the druid epic flying form looks like a hypogryph. *sighs dreamily*

I think you'll get the mount, but not the riding skill. Something like the Wintersaber quest.

k, I did that quest line in Shadowmoon valley and got the 42,000 rep. Any clue about getting more rep for netherdrakes?
