So Blizzard hasn't added this to its bug list but it is most definitely a bug.

Unlocked lockboxes will re-lock in the mail and you'll have to do them again. This why I've been taking out the items and mailing them to the people who sent them.


They will also re-lock if you zone into an instance or a battleground apparently. And I've read that they will re-lock if you even change zones. They will also give multiple skill ups for lockpicking.

Now whether or not this is considered an exploit is debatable. However, since all this information is all over the bug forum without a blue responce acknowledging it as a bug or telling people not to do it, I'm pretty sure you can get away with upping your lockpicking if you want to.

Edit: This would be especially nice if you get a necklace, ring, or healing potion in the box. I wonder if that happens if the same thing is in the box every time. If so I have to words: $$$Ka Ching!!!$$$

I really need to get my lock picking up. It is so sad so if anyone has any boxes that need opening please message me. I have like 32 strong junkboxes that i am saving in my bank, lol. can't wait till i open them.

If you take the item out the box dissappears. If you just check what's inside and then it re-locks it will have the same item in it when you unlock it again.

I'm NOT crazy! I knew that I unlocked those boxes!
