I am an avid reader of Fark.com. I hate to repost things, but I couldn't resist the temptation since so many of our Canadian friends have infiltrated this guild.

It raises a number of interesting points, but I remain comforted in the one thing Americans have that Canadians don't: George W. (Not that Stephen Harper is a huge improvement....)

I don't disagree with anything in that essay that assembles all of the facts that reinforce it's thesis.

Funny thing about this is that it's the exact same situation in Australia -- they love bashing America but they greedily consume every American product possible (saying this from when I visited there) /shrug
Even worse, I showed the people I stayed with the speech Stephen Colbert gave at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, a speech that is L O L hilarious if you know one shred of info about American politics, and while they did laugh, there were a lot of points that flew over their heads ... yet they were pretty comfortable questioning me on American policies

That was too funny and true, the only point where I feel an error was made was the Starbucks remark, yes we drink it, but far more of us are Tim Horton addicts! Over all I give it top marks!

Gonna reiterate that in NO WAY do I dislike Canadians (at least, for their Canadianess. If you are a Canadian asshole, you are still an asshole).
Just to be clear- I'm only poking fun :)

most of our movies may suck (bon cop bad cop was an exception, it was hilarious) but at least we have poutine to make up for it...:)
This explains why all the Canadians I know are so nice. They are secretly bashing me behind my back. Probably with Val. And eating poutine while doing it.

What could I possibly say behind your back that I haven't said to you?

I was in Canada once. Walked over, had some breakfast, then walked back into the US. Good time.
I've only been in one bar brawl and it was in Canada.

I went to Van Couver a couple years ago, got $100 or so converted and after a couple hours of walking around buying beer, lunch, weed, hookers, blow and my wallet was empty.
"WTF?" I exclaimed. I didn't think I spent so much but then I looked in my pocket and I had a pocket full of change.
Silly canadians.
the end.
