So, it has been far too long since dear ole Shadian has had a respec, now may be the time. As you all know I'm currently geared and speced for tanking and decent DPS. However, I find that I rarely tank. When I do group I'm usually with a prot paladin, so of the 2 choices which would you choose to fill the dps spot? :) With all the instance grinding I have to do for rep I was thinking now would be a good time to try out resto spec and get some practice healing. So my questions are, do we feel we have enough tanks to lose one? And are there any priests that would like to spec Shadow and would welcome an additional healer? This won't be happening any time soon as I have to gear up first, but is something I'm thinking about for the future.

All feedback is welcome and appreciated.

As with any respec, the choice is yours.

I think all the druid specs are pretty awesome. In my admittidely selfish opition, having an additional viable high-end tank or healer for Kara would be awesome. It would give some more flexibility in assembling the teams and letting some folks focus on the roles they prefer. Also, tree-form is the best thing evah.

I like trees, but I also like bears. Right now, I count more healers in VS than tanks, so I'd say to keep the feral spec for now.

But amassing a little hoard of tree-style leathers might also be a good idea.

Also, the tree-dance is much awesomer than the bear-dance.

(PS Tell the prot paladin to get out of your tanking spot and to do some dps.)

I think it's really up to you, whatever YOU want to play :) this is not a guild that will ever tell you to respec - we'll accomodate whatever it is that is best for you. I know you've done an excellent job tanking what you have done.

With that said, it again comes around to what do YOU want to do. I know you spent a little bit of time as resto and enjoyed it while leveling. All I can really tell you is that we'll welcome your tanking/DPS as feral spec and we'll certainly welcome your tree form if you want to try out resto :) I can tell you that we don't have so much as one single resto druid in the guild anyway, and there would definitely be advantages to one in Karazhan, but it's not about what's best in there, rather what do you enjoy most?

It'll definitely take me a little while to collect enough healing leathers to respec. But I would like to give resto a try at 70 and see how I like it. With all the instances I need to run for rep it'll give me plenty of chances to see how I do with it.

I faced a similar decision respeccing from ret to prot. I felt like I'd add more to the guild, and thats how I get my enjoyment from the game- by helping out. It worked out for me. I like being a tank. I do eventually plan to respec Holy at some point in the future just to learn and understand Holy Pallies. I may end up liking that even better, who knows. I encourage you to explore the range of possibilities your class presents and settle on the one you enjoy most. You wont contribute anything to this guild by playing a spec you dont really like.

Shadian, as everyone has said, "Play what you like." There's a great need for tanks in this guild to run instances. The need may not seem there right now because it's summer and people are off doing things other than WoW. It'll pick back up again.

If we're ever able to generate enough interest for a 2nd weekly Karazhan group, we're definitely going to need more.

Well, I've decided to stick with Feral for a little while. I'll reconsider Resto as the guild makeup changes.

Shadian - sorry for my late reply but I just want you to know... I love you no matter what you choose!!

/w Foxfyr: Thank GOD he stayed feral!!

But seriously, I really really would love you even if you went resto. As long as you like playing whatever you are playing. Cause otherwise you might stop playing all together and then we wouldn't have a Shadian at all!

Funny how Shadian said this yesterday, and then went on to get two beautiful epic healing dr00d items in Kara AND did a FANTASTIC job healing during the Opera event, which we could not have finished if he had NOT gone back to his bank and brought healing gear. :)

So, back to this topic. I've been really looking at my spec. and trying to decide what I'd like to do. Because so much of what druids do is gear based it could be possible for me to spec into a feral/resto hybrid that could work quite well. I'm more comfortable, as a druid, in a non-primary role. Kind of a "when the need arises" player. So, once I build a healing set I'm going to try out a 0/30/31 spec.

That sounds like an excellent idea - it might make it hard to MT a difficult instance, but you should still be able to MT easier ones, OT anything at all, do loads of DPS, and heal whenever you want. Worth a try anyway, I mean, just gold! :)

Well, I certainly think that's smoking hot.

Exactly, there is no way I'll be main tanking any boss in Karazhan with this spec. But, like with the Moroes fight, I could easily off-tank one of the adds until the dps arrives. I think druids severly gimp themselves when they focus solely on one aspect of the class. If Shadian main-tanks he will not be able to Brez, innervate, off-heal, or dps. So, I feel this spec will add even more utility to my arsenal.

You haven't answered one very important question.

Has Der Wunderkind approved it?

HAHA, I'll have to run it by him.

You should have seen his face when I told him that I, a feral druid, did some healing in Karazhan. I wish I had a camera with me. His guild doesn't even attempt Kara without 3 healers and 1 off-healer. They also use the strategy of allowing Juliet to go OOM before taking them down.

This coming from a guy who's SO bad at the game that he can't actually do anything in Outland - instead, he is STILL running MC repeatedly because it's the only thing he knows how to do. How freaking sad is THAT.

It hurts my head as well. Just be glad you don't have to deal with him in person.
