Hi guys!

Okay, tomorrow I'll be doing a Relay Run For Life and I was wondering if anyone here would like to pledge me. It's an event run by the Canadian Cancer Society.

I'm afraid I don't know much else about it. From what my friend says I'll be staying in a tent for most of the night and at 4am I'll be getting up to walk around a track with her for about 2 hours. Sounds like a good time! lol

Anywho. All you have to do is follow the link

https://secureccs.ca/eventmodule.aspx?lng=en&did=2&eid=30&pg=donation_step0

and "pledge a participant". Do a search on my name: Bryna Bailey and follow the rest of the instructions.

I'll probably bring my camera to the event and, if my friend says it's okay, I'll post some of the pictures.

Thanks guys!

Sorry to take so long with this thread. Anyway, the Relay was a huge success! Our team raised about $1000 in pledges and the run was a lot of fun! I'll tell you a bit about it:

For one thing every team had a theme. Ours was Red vs Blue, that cartoon that uses the Halo engine. I admit that I've only heard of this cartoon, I've never actually watched an episode. I was Doc. We all had T-Shirts with quotes from the show on the front and a character name on the back. I do have a picture of myself in my shirt but I'm afraid it's not fit for the public. . . I'll tell you why in a sec. Anyway, my shirt said "Surprisingly, my medical training didn't really cover internal combustion".

There were some really awesome costumes. From pirates to penguins to a guy dressed as wonder woman.

So, after the opening speeches we all got together on the track for the big first lap. That's when I noticed the dark clouds on the horizon. Then the sky opened up and it started pouring rain. Rain, wind, thunder, lighting, and of course, hail. I had my camera but I didn't want to get it wet so I couldn't get a picture of the mass chaos that followed. There were people screaming and running everywhere. It was great! I love storms and being out in the rain! :D We were herded into the main building next to the field until the storm passed. I don't think it was longer then 20min.

Everyone and everything was soaked. Did I mention that the shirts where white? And that I was wearing a white bra? Yeah. So, when we got back to camp most of the gear was pretty wet. It did dry out a bit but we spent most of the night in various stages of damp. I was lucky that I hadn't spread out my sleeping bad so it was mostly dry. I had also brought a change of clothes just in case.

I think that was the most exciting thing that happened all night. For the rest I alternated between walking and trying to sleep. I would like to add that sleeping next to a group with whistles is very hard. Also, some of the blisters on my feet still haven't completely healed.

Honestly, I had a wonderful time! Rain doesn't bother me and neither does one night without sleep. It was really like an all night party and I plan on doing it again next year.
