K, I am really bored at work so here goes.

There is no official name to the movie but people are calling it Cloverfield. Several very cool sites have popped up. The only site that JJ Abrams has said is official is http://www.1-18-08.com . It only has two pictures on it but I am sure there are more to come. It used to only have one picture on it.

The reason I bring this up other than a really cool trailer is on another site they have 5 puzzles. You have to beat the first puzzle to get to the next one. Between each puzzle is a video. It is really cool. http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/

I've been following this for some time now :)

There are a LOT of "ethanhaaswasright" and "ethanaaswaswrong" sites out there including myspace and livejournal sites in addition to the main ones.

Now here's the thing though. JJ Abrams has clearly stated just the other day that the "ethanhaas" sites have nothing to do with him, and that while there ARE multiple sites that deal with his movie the only one that has been found is the www.1-18-08.com site you mention (by the way, if you didn't notice anything odd in the pictures, make sure you zoom in using the Flash feature when you right click. They are NOT what they appear).

On the other hand, JJ Abrams ALSO had previously denied knowledge of the Darwin sites found in the first season of Lost, but later they were confirmed to be official sites and he was being mysterious. So, he could be lying through his teeth, too. :) who knows.

And right after my post, they added a THIRD picture and disabled zoom, WHOA.

I just tried to zoom in... what am I missing?

OK, I'm dumb, what is the objective of the second puzzle?

I heard a lot of rumors about this movie ("It's a spinoff of 'Lost,'" "It's a new 'Godzilla,'" etc.) , but a very interesting one I heard is that it is possibly a "Call of Cthulu" movie or may be in the Lovecraft universe, and I think that would be a cool thing to see JJ Abrams attempt to do.

1. The first lock will test your memory. Follow the trail of light and sound, but be careful -- one wrong move will send you back to the beginning.
2. For the second lock, you may need to look to the stars. They will help you find HAAS who will lead your way.
3. The third lock will require you to extinguish all lights but one. Only with one light remaining will you be able to proceed.
4. The fourth lock will let you move all 4 pieces through the control of one. However, unless the three key pieces are simultaneously placed into position, you will not be granted access.
5. The fifth lock will be the toughest. Seek help again from the stars to reveal your key and the message that you must decode. The two working together will open the way.

I was reading about it and it can't be Godzilla because Paramount doesn't own the rights but who knows.

No one knows WHAT it is, but one thing is known - whatever it is, it's allegedly completely original. Brand new... whatever the hell it is.

Remember, the Ethan Haas stuff has NOTHING to do with the 01-18-08 movie. Actually I just realized I never posted about that here, oops. J J Abrams said in an interview flat out that as cool as he thought that site was, it didn't have anything to do with them.

It's believed right now that the Ethan Haas sites are actually a part of the upcoming Mindstorm game "Alpha Omega" about the end of the world - and if you trace back the WHOIS information on the Ethan Haas sites, the domains are in fact registered to Mindstorm's headquarters. Go figure. :) Not sure if it still shows this or not now, but another site had all that info on it from their research back at the beginning of July. EDIT: Looks like it's pointing to the marketing company now, lol.
