So who has tried out the BioShock demo? How awesome is it? I downloaded it last night while I was sleeping. A crazy 1.9GBs

I've moved past the demo and am playing the actual game. The demo is awesome and will only leave you wanting more. Just do yourself a favor and go pick up the full game.

I'm playing the game too. Was nervous at first that it was suffering from the GOW type hype, but unlike GOW, this game is actually good so far.

I recommend playing in the dark with surround sound.

The $50 price tag has made me want to wait. Realize that my gaming dollars are mostly spent with WoW. I need real input on whether there is a good reason NOT to wait for the price to come down. The only good reason I can think of is that really good games take many years to budge down even a small fraction. WoW being the exception because of the monthly fee, of course.

I played the game for about 45 min (full version) and realized my 19" LCD wasn't going to cut it. Bought some more cabling, and now I have it running on our 47" LCD TV. Can't wait til it's darker, going to start over. HL2 is the only game you can compare this one too, though Bioshock is a bit more on the survival-horror side.

I also found that trying to play warcraft on a 47" monitor is a fast way to make your eyes cross over, LOL.

It's an awesome game! The characters really come alive! The world is really creepy.

Let me put it another way: it's the only first person shooter that I actually want to play instead of just watching Twistle play it.

As usual, the demo is herky jerky. If the stutter would be this bad on the full version, no thanks. It's not immersive when I can't even see anything. Is everyone else getting great frame rates on the demo? Mine absolutely sucks. Reminds me of EQ2 on release.

Are you referring to its story? Because I'll admit that it is very flawed (OK, I got to my house that somehow had the only entire map of alien tunnels, so now let's go to the train that magically has a light-bomb on it. What?), and a bit too short. But other than that, I found the gameplay exciting, and the multiplayer, great, even for the casual FPS/TPS player.

See, I never got into the multiplayer. I hear it's quite good.

I've gotten pretty far in Bioshock. It's really REALLY fun. I especially love finding all the cassette players. They play little snippets from the people who lived in Rapture. It's so cool to hear them. You can see how some of them slowly started going mad. How their opinions changed over time. It has nothing to do with the game, but it adds so much to the atmosphere.

My tastes are varied. I've always loved first person survival games. Stuff like Silent Hill and the suffering. Thing is, I don't usually like to play them. I just like to watch Twistle play them. Usually cause they're too damn hard for me! I couldn't even get out of level 1 with the Suffering.

Bioshock was just one of those games that I couldn't just watch from the sidelines. I had to try it for myself. Turn the game down to easy and away I go!

just bought it and i'm playing it now. this should be fun.

It is pretty fun. been playing it a lot today. To late now to play it. Don't want nightmares, lol
