Remember when you hated taking the boats between continents because of the fear of being dumped out at sea and left to drown?

Oh yes. Did it happen to you recently? I usually only got disconnected, or sometimes trapped on the boat for ages. Once I got dumped, and luckily my hearthstone was up. Ahhhh...Blizzard.

heh. Capt Placeholder. That was awesome. And nah, it hasn't happened recently. I was on the boat this evening and started thinking about it.

I wasn't there for server opening but...I remember when the Draenei first came out and everyone was fighting over lvl 1 spawns.

I never go dropped of the boats, but I do remeber the Loot Lag!

Kill a mob, loot it for 15 mintues, fight to get another mob , loot for 15 minutes.

I remember the 30min queues to login. People used to complain but I would tell them about the 4 hour long queues we had to deal with in beta. 30min is nothing. lol

Ooooh my god, the queues. So painful.

I drowned because of boat disappearage many many times...AND one time on the horde side, the zeppelin dropped me. Splat.

I remember a long time ago...when you NEVER saw lvl 60s in IF. One time I was in Astranaar and I saw a lvl 40 pally/dwarf ride past me into unknown territory and I was like "Wowwww....he's RIDING something! He's...LEVEL 40!!!!"
And then being enraged that the horde would DARE come around the Talondeep Path area (not knowing that horde had quests in that area too and they were not just there to be MEAN TO THE ALLIANCE).

Ahh the boat droppage days, fun times, though not nearly as fun as running as fast as I could to catch the boat from Menethil to Theramore only to get stuck running on an invisible treadmill on the side of the boat.

And the queues on AD or Eitrigg didn't bother me much, I had horde on Mannoroth where two hours were short on a good night.

When battleground wasn't accross realms and we could go run around and quests for hours before they had enough people to start.

Yeah, I thought that was the whole point of Silithus -- grind rep while you wait for BG to start.

Level 20 something, got a quest to go to Booty Bay. "Where the fuck is booty bay?" I ask. Found it's location on the half-ass map that comes with the game and I start running... down the coast. What could possibly go wrong?

Many crocs were well fed that night.

During this time, you would die and go to the spirit healer, run all the way back to your fucking corpse only to get no ressurection box. Solution: log out, run all the way back again and hope to jeebus you got the box this time.

Heh. Forgot about the whole unable to rez at your corpse thing. Solution: Don't die!

I have many MANY stories about my time in Stranglethorn Vale on my old pvp server Warsong. I can remember getting ganked and having my corpse camped so I'd rez in the bushes to aviod being seen and then RUN as fast as my kitty legs would take me.
Also, horde used to wait in the tents by the hunting party for unsuspecting alliance to hand in their quests. There were always skeletons at the hunting party. :)

Then, Blizz came out with their shiny new honor system. What a joy that was. I got gang banged in Un'Goro for honor. A party of five took turns killing me. It was terrible!

Twist, Berg, and I were so happy to switch to a pve server. HAPPY!

I remember being a little level 5 Nightelf and hearing about a far away land called Ironforge. I had no idea how to get there but I knew it was popular and that it's Auction Hall had infinitely more selection than the sparce Darnasus offering. I must have died 15 times trying to get there from Menethil Harbour. Thank Elune that they linked the Auction Halls!

LOL! I think I made that trip about 20 times! Once for myself (where I don't think I died once. Yay for Hunter Tracking!) and then 19 times for friends and strangers. I'm just too nice. Ha.

Ahhh my very first trip from Darn to SW. What magic, I was level seven, and a level 12 hunter convinced me the I totally had to go with him because it was the coolest trip ever. This is also coming from the same guy that told me I'd die if I fell off of the tram, but never mentioned I actually really would die if I fell off of the boat at sea /sigh. Amazingly we didn't die, but I chalk it up to a fact that a level 20 hunter picked us up right outside of Menethil and escorted us through that whole gauntlet LoL

heh, I remember making that trip in beta and then again around release. A year later I had a new night elf and sucked up for the trip and they had moved all the spawns far away from the road.

Damn kids have it too easy.

Yes, I remember my first run from IF to elf lands. My friend Doob would purposely run close to the water to give me a heart attack because he knew I was scared of the crocs. I was like "What are you doing??? Stop!!!" He was like, "HAH HAH."

And I also recall getting killed by the tram because I thought I'd just walk the whole way instead. The thing came at me, everything went white, and then...You Are Dead.
