I'm just curious as to what desktop resolution most of you use. This of course plays a significant role in designing our web site. I use 1680x1050 so when I'm originally working on site designs I'm constantly having to think "okay, is this going to look good to those at lower resolutions?" I generally test down to 1024x768 (in firefox, ie and opera -- fuck you linux/mac users) ;) and it looks "okay" but the higher the better.

So, what do you use?

If your resolution isn't listed, pick the closest one.

** right click you desktop, select properties, settings tab, "screen resolution" **

Not that you care since I'm a machead :D, but 1440x900 (I guess that's a widescreen resolution). Everything on the site looks great to me!

Heh. I used to be an 800x600 person. And yes I am blind. Of course the contacts correct that, but I can't stand my icons and stuff being microscopic (with no lenses I can't even read anything on screen from 10" away). I have bumped my res up to 1024x768 both at work & home. If all I did was game then I'd probably have it higher, but with all the stuff I do, especially at work, it would drive me nuts working at a higher res.

I'm one of the (many) Mac users, and the "random" button overlaps the Victorious Secret logo unless I deliberately stretch the page out.

There should only be that overlap at the 1024x768 and lower resolutions (if you're full screen browsing). I may fix that eventually but I don't want to cramp the Navigation area any more than it already is. Probably just making the image transparent would fix it. I may do that some time this week.

My Samsung LCD does not go over 1440x900 so I am not sure what the high rez's would look like.

Yeah, my current widescreen monitor is limited to 1440x900 as well. I hope to change that soon though.

Mine's weird, it's 1280x768. Why, I don't know, but since I share it with 3 other peoples right now I don't really mess with the settings because it's a fruitless act LoL.

I'm not at home and I can't remember what my one at home is. Fox! What's my resolution? My laptop is 1280x800.

I use 1024x768 on my laptop because I have to. That is as big it goes. On my desktop I use 1280x1024.
