So something happened last night that I figured I'd use as an excuse to ask what was your worst most embarrassing moment in WOW...
Me first. >_< This will be long and EPIC.
Okay so I pug Mara because I'm bored and I hate the Plaguelands. We get in there and everyone is 50 and under but me. I'm shadow but I'm managing to heal even though the "tank" is taking so much damage that I have to swig pots and my mana is wiped after every. single. pull. I'm talking about the very first part of the purple side. o_0 So I get on vent and tell a friend I hate Mara and I don't know why I signed up for it. The "tank" can't hold aggro so the mage dies in like two seconds. Since I have to drink so much I am frequently sitting down. The group seems to think they can heal themselves and constantly just go pull as I am drinking. I'm telling my friend all this. I'm also laughing at the "tank's" spelling and saying we're going to wipe and that I am going to hearth and that the "tank" sucks.
. . .
Cut to party chat where the "tank" types at me to STFU. o_0 I'd left the VC on. I er.. told him I only spoke my opinion. He was a crap tank. Then I hearthed. Now I feel like a stupid head.
Can anyone beat me? ^^

I don't know that I can beat you, mostly cause mine is pretty similar.
My lock was in Red Ridge trying to get to the top of that non-instanced elite area. The pug I was with simply couldn't do a damn thing right. Healer kept on hitting the wrong party members, people kept running away from mob right into other mobs... general asshattery.
I hit enter to type to my guild regarding how it was going. I typed this long diatribe on how this group f-ing sucks, on how I hate little kids (one of the members was admittedly a 12 year old), so on and so forth.
After hitting enter I realize, to my horror, that I had typed all that into party chat instead of the guild chat. Needless to say, things fell apart rather quickly after that.
I can't really say it was embarrassing, mostly because I'd have to care what those kids thought for that to be the case. But it was an epic display of foot-in-mouth. I wonder why non of these people ever wanted to pug with me after that...

When I was taking a break from trying to lvl Agnes and playing on my horde server, I took my lvl 60 priest into Strat DS with a few guild members and a few others from a different guild. My warlock friend had apparently gone in there countless times to get his Dreadmist Pants and the Baron had never dropped them.
Anyway, I hadn't grouped that much AT ALL and I was still pretty fuzzy on the Pass, Greed, Need rolling stuff. I just waited to see what everyone else did and then hit my buttons accordingly.
So, we get to the end, the Baron drops Dreadmist, and I kinda wait to see what everyone else is doing. I don't see anyone else roll, so I roll Need (thinking...hey, I could use those!). The window pops up, "Are you sure?" "Um...yes" And...SILENCE. And then..."ARE YOU A FUCKING IDIOT?" from the dude in another guild. And then..."Hey, chill out, she didn't know." "I DON'T CARE IF SHE'S A GIRL OR NOT, SHE'S FUCKING RETARDED." "DON'T SAY THAT ABOUT OUR FRIEND." And on and on. I felt sooooo, sooooo terrible. Thankfully, the warlock was a guildie and was cool with me and didn't tear me a new asshole and I promised to run with him a trillion times to kill the Baron until he got his pants.
He eventually got all his Tier 1, and I learned the mechanics of rolling on items.

OB rolling:
I got yelled at for rolling need on a druid only BoP item while I was in a pug. I didn't really think anything of it at the time, but boy, someone was hot under the collar.
EDIT: Druid only item in a group with no other druids.

Well, I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused about rolling mechanics! The first time I went into an instance I kept rolling need, confused by the icons. But I did figure it out eventually...and well before I hit 60...I think...
Oh okay. Make FUN OF ME.
I hadn't had much practice running an instance in a lvl 60 group at that point. I had JUST hit 60, so lay off!

The first time I went in an instance run, to Deadmines, I was amazed at all the green items that kept dropping. I was just starting out with enchanting and having a heckuva time getting anything going because I'd never found anything to disenchant, so I saw these wonderful things popping up and, never having seen the whole loot item window before I reasoned that I needed the items to up my enchanting, so kept rolling need on them. I forget who else was in the party (mostly friends I believe) so it took a little while before Kalam politely whispered me "Hey... if you don't stop rolling need on the greens you're going to get booted from the group." I went red-faced, whispered back "Oops! Thanks!" and started paying close attention to what the others were doing at that point....
(OK, more following the loot rule learning thread than most embarrassing moment, but still...)

I may be imagining things, but did they ALWAYS have that Need/Greed thing in WoW? I've been playing it since closed beta and don't remember having it in the days when I was in Deadmines, Stockades and BFD.

I wasn't making fun of you, I believe we've all made that mistake.

Shaerl accidentally Needed a BoE green in SM last night while we were clearing mobs on a Headless Horseman run.
I'm so ashamed.
Oh, wait... something merely "embarrassing?"
Uhm... how about the heroic Slave Pens run a week or two ago? We had just wiped (it wasn't pretty), and I thought we were back up and ready for the next pull. So I shift into Bear, Enrage, and Faerie Fire the next mob.
Had I actually LOOKED before doing that, I would've noted that two party members were still dead and the healer was AFK.
Oops.

Aw, Agnes can bitch at me all she wants! At least I have a significant geographic buffer...I have to deal with THREE females bitching at me IRL AT CLOSE RANGE...:hand:
Heheh. I was just getting huffy about the "well by the time I was 60, I had figured out the lewt rulz, nooooooob" part. You know. When you actually said that.

I think I made it almost to sixty before doing any instances at all. I know I grouped with Lux and Killian in the wetlands once or twice but you guys were much bigger than I at the time and you just walked me through a couple things.

Lux, the need/greed thing was introduced a while ago, but it definitely hasn't been in place since the game's inception.
Also, I don't have any embarrassing moments because I don't make mistakes. I make UNPOPULAR DECISIONS

I think I have a two pretty good ones:
Pregor
I was Pug'ing BFD and this hunter kept pulling while nobody was ready. We were winning all the fights, but it was sheer chaos. The priest was still drinking, I was not ready, etc. Lead had been passed to me earlier so I could mark. Finally, we were nearing the final boss and I had just about all I could handle from this blasted hunter. After 4-5 message in party chat in "screaming CAPS lock" he still wouldn't listen. So I booted him from the group. All of a sudden everyone errupts and says "WTF! Invite him back you asshole!" I realized then that the only person who had a problem with the chaos was me. The immediately asked me to pass lead to someone else, which I did. I don't think I said anything in party chat at all.
Lesson Learned: Just because you give a shit doesn't mean the group does.
Khros
I had leveled a Rogue to 50 and a Warrior to 60 by the time I was leveling Khros so I knew the game pretty well. Being the kind of "take charge" person I am, I normally took over any PUG that appears to be failing. Usually that ends up being a good thing, but this one day...
Khros was in Uldaman. We had just done the Indiana Jones room and things were going piss-poor. The group was all over the place and 3 out of us 5 were pulling at random times. So I am sitting there in chat telling them to basically "quit being n00bs, I know what I am doing, I have leveled 3 characters, settle down and do what I say" (not the exact words, but not far off either).
Then I proceeded to soulstone the mage thinking she was a healer. It happened in the chaos of a pull we weren't ready for. I was hard getting all those /whispers "Dude, SS doesn't go on a mage, that should go on a healer. Are you a n00b?"
Lesson learned: Relax...

This guild has a long and honoured history of soul-stoning the mage. Just ask Viraj.
