As we've stated in a previous thread, we are trying to improve the progression in Kara (and soon, other raids as well). Heroics weeks (and rep-grinding days) have been very successful and we want to thank everyone who participated and helped out. And we'll definitely do it again!
After considerable thought, the Producers and Raid Leaders have come up with the following idea on how to keep the casual and not-so-casual players happy:
People that wish to be considered more serious raiders will be given priority for the later bosses in Kara. Anyone can nominate themselves for this status, but you will be expected to:
1. Take the advice given to you by the raid leader.
2. Enchant/socket your gear and try to upgrade your gear as much as possible when not raiding.
3. Accept the possibility that you may not be ready to be a progressive raider and sit out the progression raids until you are ready.
It is not JUST about the gear that you have. You MUST be willing to take direction and really know how to play your class.
If you do not want to become a progressive raider, we still expect you to show up on time and do your best in Kara. However, the raid leader won't be inspecting your gear and getting on your case. Isn't that nice? ;)
If you wish to be considered a progressive raider, please send a PM to Sapphyre, Foxfyr, Frenial or Lux_Lisbon explaining why you want to be a progressive raider and what you expect it to be like. Some people will be automatically considered progressive raiders, while others will be given direction on how to get geared up and experienced enough to be considered progressive. We do not ever want to have a Group A and Group B mentality, so we will not be posting any lists with who the progressive raiders are. We do not want any elitist thinking or competition between those that wish to remain casual and those that wish to progress. The idea is for everyone to still play together in harmony. :D
For this coming week, we are going to have one Kara group running at the usual 7pm server time, and a second for late-nighters at 9:30pm server time. Everyone is always welcome to sign up for any of the runs that are posted, but keep in mind, that for the later bosses, we are going to be taking more of the progressive raiders than casual. This doesn't mean a casual raider will never get to see the Prince fight... it just means that the number of casual raiders in the later runs of each week will be limited.
If you have any questions or concerns about our new raiding rules, please feel free to discuss with one of the Raid Leaders or Producers.

Dear Raid Leaders, Producers, and Prettiest Mages:
It would help if you'd clear out your inbox before asking the whole guild to spam you. Dork.

I know I save a LOT of mail, but I had 6 open mail slots that were filled as I slumbered last night and I didn't get your mail. :( I went through and deleted a whole bunch, though!
Everyone, thanks for the PMs. We have already started our list of volunteers.

Is there a new group starting for us newbies who just got keyed for kara and would like to start raiding?:)

That all depends on how many sign-ups we have. With one late run and one early run, I don't know that we will have more than one group per time slot. But the beginning parts of Kara (i.e. nights one/two) will definitely be more accessible to newer Kara memebers.

Hey all - just a quick note that Khros is being introduced to the world of leading raids. He's going to start off as a Caterer and get geared up to lead some Kara runs. If you've been on a run with him, you will know that he is a natural leader and great with the target icons... well, most of the time! ;)

For those that have sent in PMs about being progressive raiders that are a little confused:
The main thing that sending this PM says is "I am willing to take advice." We won't always have it but we also don't know who is necessarily playing just for fun. And we want to be very careful not to infringe on the people that want to play for fun. If you're up to the task then we know that we won't be hurting feelings.
And by the way... it goes both ways. I am always open to advice from members of a raid or party because I know (as do the other officers) that I have a lot to learn as well.

As we try to get a late and early run going, it would be helpful if everyone signed up for either run that they are available for. You can post which one you prefer. This will help us make sure the late run has enough people before we pick the group for the early run. I'd hate to see the late run cancelled and then have 8 on deck for the early run. So sign up wherever you can and we'll let the raid leaders use their magic to sort out the groups. :D

/e sends Brendar a text message now that he has his number to wake his ass up and inform him of the hilarity he missed while dozing at his keyboard.
We got lots of applications in for Progressive Raiders... just remember to PM us if you are interested!

Screw Progressive, you can save up to 15% by going with Geico.
heh.
Hey guys... as you may have noticed we don't really have a need for the whole Progressive Raiders thing anymore (and haven't for a really long time). So we're shelving the whole thing. When the expansion hits, we may need to revisit our strategies as far as raiding goes but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I know this doesn't really affect anything but I MUST CLEAN UP THE FORUMS ... cause that's what I do. :)
If anyone has any questions about this, send Lux/Fox/Sapph a PM.
