I'm so going to be fucked when the patch hits, heh. TIME TO RE-LEARN THE GAME or, you know, finally bite the bullet and really learn how to do keybindings.

Grrr.
Speaking as a (mostly) melee player, why? It seems they're fixing something that isn't broken, and will trigger our cooldowns like crazy.

As melee players, I don't know if this will even touch you. It's mostly a spell-casting thing. So freakouts may not be in order.

Because it keeps people from having to add "/stopcasting" to every macro and to compensate for lag in crazy ways via addons. For longer spells it's a more noticeable thing.

Hmm, you may be right. Melee is usually instant, so global cool-downs shouldn't be a problem. So the question for casters is, does this help?
But really, freakouts are always in order.

It'll probably help me, yes. Minimally. But I'm still looking forward to it.

You can always hear a faint *click click click click click click click* in the background when Linn talks over vent.
Of course when I am playing Oshu it sounds like a helicopter.

Apparently, I'm too stupid to know if this will effect me or not... lolz
I have no idea how this truly will affect my play, I don't think I'm a button masher, except in those times when I've been silenced or dazed and I'm trying to get a heal out to the tank immediately after I can cast again... will that be affected?

If you just keep spamming the button, only the last press will count. Once you become undazed, each of the casts will be attempted, sent to the server, and cancelled by the next press of the button. It'll still get through, but the cast time will start from when you stopped mashing your button instead of from when you came out of being dazed.

See, this is bad for those of us who, when shit is going wrong or we get a lag spike or Agnes is talking about her balls, we get ANGRY and BEAT THE FUCK out of our keyboards.
Or maybe thats only me...

Nope, that's me too. I think we'll all have to learn not to do that, but that's really the only time I do it, when I'm waiting for a stun to wear off or silence to wear off. I guess we'll all have to start actually looking at the debuff bars instead of just clicking frantically.
Which, as Hom said, sucks.
But, it will make it easier to chain heals/spells the REST of the time when panic and desperation aren't setting in, so I think overall it will be awesome.
Perhaps it will teach us the other important lesson of the Hitchhiker's Guide:
DON'T PANIC.
