Homreker and Arachne had to take their dog malibu to Gainesville for hip surgery so keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

evidently because they have a greyhound, the local vets will not do the surgery so they had to drive to Gainesville to see a specialist :(

purebred? Big-ass dog!

Poor Puppy!

The diagnosis so far:

The vets are about 90% certain that its bone cancer. They're doing a biopsy today to find out and we will know more in this afternoon.

There is an outside chance that it's an infection but we've been told not to get our hopes up. The infection would be treatable with some heavy anti-biotics for about 30-60 days.

Unfortunately, if it is bone cancer there is nothing we can do other than help to manage the pain. The vet's have said she probably won't have too long, in that case and we will have to be very careful so that she doesn't break her increasingly fragile hip.

Arachne and I are hopeful that we will be able to provide her with comfort and love as long as we have her.
