Most amusing thing in today's news:
Abba Museum Planned
A museum dedicated to the Swedish disco group Abba is to open in Stockholm in June 2009, Agence France-Presse reported. The museum, a short walk from the city center in a waterfront heritage site that was once a customs hall, will fill three floors and more than 43,000 square feet. Initiators of the project said all four members of Abba â Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad â have given their backing to the museum and will provide clothing, instruments and music. Despite breaking up a quarter of a century ago, Abba still sells two million to three million albums a year.

I never did get Abba's popularity. Period. And I normally like music of similar styles..... just not Abba.....

I can understand the appeal of Abba in a purely ironic/kitschy sense. How one can take them seriously I'll never understand.
I went to the Liberace museum in Las Vegas once, and my wife and I were pointing and giggling at all the absurd stuff there, and the people who worked there, who obviously took Liberace VERY seriously, were giving us very dirty looks.

I love Abba. I AM NOT ASHAMED IN THE LEAST. It is like most upbeat pop music, absolutely perfect for hopping about and singing into a hairbrush while my cats run in abject terror reserved usually for the vaccuum cleaner.
It is also perfect for singing loudly and terribly in the car while bopping back and forth.
I may be biased due to gaining, at my previous employer, the nickname "Dancing Queen," due to having the aforenamed song playing on my computer while working. I was wearing headphones, however, we had a fire drill. I was startled and stood up to leave, forgetting to remove my headphones. The headphones were pulled out of the computer's headphone jack, and lo, did the song blare merrily across all cubicles.

Well, if Ing likes to scare her cats with Abba, I say more power to her!!!
Coming in late to say...
Ing and I must road trip! I LOVE to sing loudly to upbeat pop songs in the car!

ABBA is awesome. Though I admit I didn't like them until Muriel's Wedding.

I too, love the ABBA. AB8|A
doesn't work in text. noted.
It is infectious. It's like Michael Jackson. Hate the guy, hate whatever you think he does... when a song of his comes on and you think no one is looking... you are singing and dancing.

isn't that a crime against fashion or something?
looking at various videos... I think they only recorded one session and squeezed every hit out of it.

Probably. But I still think it's adorable to dress so warmly in a music video. It's like "OH DID WE MENTION THAT WE ARE SWEDISH???"
