I was playing around with WoW Web Stats and decided to upload a log from tonight's Kara run. A lot of cool stuff in here. You can break down stats by boss, even.

Again, not an epeen thing, just a whole lot of kinda cool information.

I... I didn't die! Not a single time! Not once except for when I was AFK auto-following Eulalia and she shoved me over a very high ledge.

That is a very cool website.

*cough* epeen *cough*

How does it track the numbers? I know other epeen er um stat meters require the whole raid to have it installed to accurately track stats from people in the raid out of range of your point of view.

Ya, those numbers aren't quite what I had. I think they're skewed since Beam was melee. Methinks Eules was higher than me.

Check out my wicked DPS on the Shade of Aran!

WWS is like other meters in that it works on distance to the logger; the clever thing about it is that you can have it parse many logs and it will snag the unique instances out of each one. The more logs you have, then, the more likely you are to end up with an accurate representation of any particular combat.

And Shaman always win healing meters. Always. Chain Heal is totally OP. XD Especially since Prayer of Mending shows on the target, not the caster, so that 270k on Rocksteady is likely mostly Valmarriz (with some Leader of the Pack procs for spice).

That's what I figured. It's really great how you can sort it by boss encounters and look at individual skills, etc. Is it an addon or a client that must be run while WoW is running? I'm gonna try it for the next run.

I was; I was leader until Aran, when Fox and I died and Sapph pulled ahead. At the end of the run, Sapph had about 20.1 pct and I had 20 pct, and Fox had 18 or 17 pct.

Anyways, I know the reason, as always, that site lists the damage I did with the Conjurer (which shouldn't even count) but doesn't list KITTEH's outgoing damage.

This is one of many reasons why I hate meters, hate posting them, hate discussing them =P (outside of my own personal navel-gazing that is)

What I find interesting is that it clearly logged my cat's damage, as well as the heals done to it, it's just not counting him as a combined player (if it were, he would be listed in my damage set along with the Conjurer, and his dmg total would be added to mine). big problem for BM hunters on things like this.

Cool site, Beam. The character-specific summaries are neat. Euls, is it always a disadvantage that the pet's stats don't merge with the owner's? I would think it could be helpful for comparing pets ("is my DPS kitty better than my DPS stalker?") if the stats remained separate.

Especially since Prayer of Mending shows on the target, not the caster, so that 270k on Rocksteady is likely mostly Valmarriz (with some Leader of the Pack procs for spice). Are you sure those numbers don't reflect Fox putting on his healing set every once in a while? He's sneaky like that. :)

To answer a few questions as best I can:
1) It's not a program you run. It parses the combat logs. They do have an add-on, but all it does is only enable the combat log in certain instances and adjust your combat log range to 200 yards. This range thing is part of why people end up with different stats.
2) It does have trouble with pets. I'm not 100% sure how it matches them up. It did match the shadowtard up with Val, but missed the hunter pets.
3) Everyone will always have different numbers. They should be close, but never identical.
4) If you want to try it, I'd recommend the beta: http://wowwebstats.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1128
5) Agian, it's not perfect, but I found all the stats and sorting and graphing quite interesting, so decided to give it a shot.
6) Amusingly, it didn't even match up with the damage meters I was running. It's not an exact science.

Get Recount. It is like WWS as an addon. Recount also increases the combat log range to 200 yds, which is 5-6x the maximum range for any attack, so it should be covering any damage happening. No syncing is required, and it should be accurate for any boss fight.

I've looked at Recount, but it's a little bit heavy for my needs. It's very nifty, and maybe after a computer upgrade I'll look into running it.

By the way, I've uploaded the log for the Illhoof fights and also found a URL that'll list all the reports that I upload:

Keep in mind, this will point directly to non-anonymized logs. DO NOT PROVIDE THIS LINK TO ANYONE.

It is very cool how you can see how much dmg you do to each boss and even astral flares.

p.s. I love that it recorded this also. See attached pic

There definitely seems to be a lot of interest in seeing these reports but they aren't for everyone.

Officers who are running this program will be adding a link to the original event post. This way anyone that doesn't want to see it is not reminded of it every time and those that are interested can look at the original event post.

In the event that an officer isn't present, please PM the link to one of us and we'll stealthily edit the opening post for those that wants the info.
